Remote work policy should be motivational in current quarantine scenario:

In this current Covid-19 pandemic scenario organizations are passing through tough time. No matter whether it is a manufacturing or a service sector, a small scale or a big giant all are facing big troubles. No employer has choice rather to giving their employees’ work from home or work off. Some departments like HR, Finance & Operation are working too hard to handle this situation.

All most all IT companies have options to give their employees work from home. It is not new for them to give their employees work from home. They have remote work policy in normal life scenario. But, we know that normal life remote work policy is not working in this current scenario. All companies need to set a new policy for current scenario. Many companies are making such kind of policy for remote works to their employees. Some are focusing on performance, some are focusing on result, some are focusing on hours and some are focusing on quantity of work. But is it really worked-out? Only few companies are focusing on it.

Being the HR of the small scale IT industry, I am strongly believe that most important role of the HR right now not only to make a smooth process and policy for remote work, just being a good policy maker and process planner but you have to balance and focus on leadership and motivation. A good leadership is always converted into motivation. You have to motivate your employees through such policy in this quarantine situation as we all know quarantine is how much frustrating for all of us.

I am happy to make such a good policy for our company employees which are working with very good output. I would like to share that policy as an example which can be helpful for other HRs as well who are also working in a small scale software industry and also facing issues in handling remote work:

“We have made such policy for them which can help to motivate their remote work daily and weekly basis. In our organization, we are using software which tracks all remotely working employees’ daily works. . Based on their works we are giving ‘Daily Kudos’ to top three most productive employees in our company official skype group. Based on particular week performance we are giving title to ‘Employee of the week’ who is most of the time come under this ‘Daily Kudous.

Motivation always works. This is HRs responsibility to always motivate employees through one and other way, whichever situation is facing by the company. It can be monetary or non-monetary. Prefer to make balancing policy for both employer and employees. Employees should enjoy and atleast not to feel pressurized in current scenario and employer should happy with the result.

Good one HR Manali Bhatt Adhvaryu Working from home can benefit employers as much as employees. If you are providing a flexible environment to your employees, they will in turn gives you more productive work. That's how it works but one should not take advantage of this flexibility!
