Sitting Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey under Erdogan

Sitting Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey under Erdogan

Political circles in Tunisia, are referred to multiple actions taken by the head of 'Enachnta' party of Rashid Gannousi, which is connected to the 'Muslim Brotherhood', and tries to resolve the Libyan crisis. There are concerns about a potential loss of control of influence and support, from countries such as Turkey and Qatar, says Libyan news.

Gannousi met Thursday in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a meeting held closed doors, which lasted almost one hour, according to the news agency Anadolu. The meeting was attended also by Prime Minister Ben Ali (Binali) Yildirim.

Reports revealed that in Ankara the Gannousi met Wednesday evening with both the Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarai and the head of the Libyan National Party, Abdul Hakim Belchai.

Discussions between Muslim Brotherhood and the Turkish leadership were about the issues of Libya's control, and the removal of the 'Muslim Brotherhood' from seats of power.

It was noted that there is a feeling among the Muslim Brotherhood that will lose another country, Libya, since there is a trend towards acceptance and support for the Libyan commander Khalifa Chaftar. An important element is that there is a shift of the Italian Government and Britain from the support of Fayez al-Sarai and turn to the Khalifa Chaftar.

Observers note that the choice of Turkey as a meeting place of the Muslim Brotherhood members and the meeting with Erdogan, as a new highest political authority of the Brotherhood, reveal that the main sponsor (funder) of the Muslim Brotherhood, Qatar, does not want to appear, in order to avoid new tensions in its relations with the Gulf emirates, but also to avoid any anger that may arise from the new US government.
