Helping Brands and Agencies unlock value from the treasure-trove of data shared by Amazon, Walmart, Target and more . AMC Practitioner. Educator. Love all things data.

Who should own AMC in my Org? - This is the question I have been asked numerous times over the last few months by large brands. Before I share my perspective, here are a few key points of note about Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC): 🔹 AMC has use beyond just your Marketing / Ads team. 🔹 AMC will evolve a lot. Keeping up with AMC know-how is essential. 🔹 AMC will remain an asset that will require technical depth in some capacity. Here is my take on ownership. There are broadly three choices: 🔸 1. CENTRALIZED - This is where a single central team (For example, IT or Data ) owns it. This central team can own and drive the tech stack. However, the challenge with this model is, the end users or stakeholders will always feel like things are moving slow . The central team will struggle to prioritize asks. The squeaky wheel might get the most grease :-). 🔸 2. DECENTRALIZED - Every team does their thing. The bulk of early usage will come from the Marketing/Ads team. You will move fast initially and see early success. However, building technical competence that can be leveraged across the organization could be a struggle. In the long run, you could end up with lots of duplication and slow progress in your tech stack maturity. 🔸 3. HYBRID - This is where a small central group shares ownership with various parts of the org. These parts could be sub-brands, geographies or functions. The central group would make decisions about the tech stack. The stakeholder groups will drive the functional usage roadmap. Strong collaboration between the groups can result in a balanced progress of both usage and technology maturity/sophistication. My recommendation is the HYBRID structure. I know this is a complex topic. Reach out to me if you would like to chat more. Amazon Ads Image AI expands offering with live images an so much more. Amazon Ads #GenAI tools have come a long way in just under a year. If you haven’t used the image generator, you should check it out. The tool now sits in the Ad Console under Creative Tools, allowing you to create images for Stores, Posts as well as your Sponsored Brand and Sponsored Display ads. With recent update you can choose new ad formats including landscape, vertical and square or select from over 40 thematic backgrounds. The newest feature, live images, was recently announced at Amazon Accelerate. With this new feature you can add motion to your images creating a more engaging image. This feature is currently available in a limited beta and will roll out to more advertisers in Q4. How can you use the image generator? One way that brands are using this tool is to create images for micro-season. With this new technology, you can easily update you store, product detail page and ads for different seasons, think Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Why does it matter? In case studies, custom images have shown to help increase click-through rates, which leads to more new to brand orders. While results will vary, the ability to develop this creative has been a big challenge for many brands and with this new tool, you can now build and scale creative in minimal time with no expense. This is a huge win for everyone. A special note! Some of you may have tried this tool when it was release last year, some of you haven’t tried it at all. This is a helpful reminder before we enter the holiday season of some new technology that was developed to help you....and it’s free. Take a minute and go in to see all the updates, share this with your creative team or try it yourself. By its nature, AI tools are constantly evolving and as brands and agencies we need to take time to explore how they can help us be more efficient with our time and more effective with our advertising spend.
