If you have Learner in your top five, the process of learning, more so than the result, energizes you. You thrive in dynamic work environments where you are asked to take on short project assignments and are expected to learn a lot about the new subject matter in a short period of time and then move on to the next one. As a result of your desire to learn new information, you can be a catalyst for change. While others might be intimidated by new rules, skills, or circumstances, you have a willingness to soak up this newness to calm others and encourage them into action. Take advantage of new opportunities in your community and discipline yourself to sign up for at least one new academic or adult learning course each year. How are you helping those around you benefit from your expertise with your #Learner strength? https://lnkd.in/gj6qjsXf

In the realm of leadership, different strengths play pivotal roles in driving success and sometimes, what may seem like two opposite strengths can come together perfectly. The #Deliberative strength, an executing theme, is characterized by thoughtful and meticulous consideration before making decisions. People who lead with Deliberative are known for ensuring that every action is well-planned and carefully weighed for potential risks. On the other hand, the #Activator strength, an influencing theme, propels individuals and teams to take swift action, igniting momentum and driving progress with a sense of urgency. In the latest episode of Leading With Strengths, David Tudehope, CEO of Macquarie Technology Group, sits down with Gallup CEO Jon Clifton to explore how he blends his Deliberative strength with the Activator strengths within his team. Through this balance, Tudehope demonstrates how combining strategic caution with dynamic execution can lead to remarkable outcomes. Discover how these complementary strengths drive innovation and success. https://lnkd.in/gdgUWdFi

If you have high #Responsibility, you take psychological ownership of what you say you will do. You’re committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty. Known for your obsession with doing things right and having impeccable ethics, you’ve created a dependable reputation. Those you lead trust you because you’ve proven yourself as a dependable leader who always delivers on promises. As a leader, your team will look to assign you new responsibilities first because of your reputation for dependability and ownership. Rather than shouldering all the responsibility yourself, empower your team by allowing them to choose what they will contribute and own. Guide them through challenges to develop their sense of accountability, which will foster their growth as responsible leaders. https://lnkd.in/g-rhsyuQ

Nearly one in five (19%) first-year college students enrolled in four-year institutions did not return for their second year between 2022 and 2023. Stopping out of college has serious implications for the students’ future wellbeing. Gallup research shows that students who complete any level of postsecondary education have greater life satisfaction, earn higher incomes, have better physical health and are more likely to be civically engaged. Fortunately for universities wanting to retain students, there’s a powerful tool that can help. Strengths-based interventions have the potential to decrease student attrition rates by 4.73 percentage points. Founder and CEO at Thrive Global

Before I decided to launch Thrive, I had dinner with Ellyn Shook, the legendary chief human resources officer of Accenture. Ellyn was the first believer that Thrive could be more than a book and could serve as the foundation of a company that could change the way we work and live. Since then Ellyn and Accenture have been true partners in every step of the Thrive Global journey. First, we worked together to continue Ellyn’s mission to make Accenture the most truly human company in the digital age. Then there was Ellyn’s leadership in placing mental health at the center of the business agenda, which included Thrive’s unprecedented rollout of Thriving Mind at Accenture. And Ellyn continues to invest in health and well-being, and reshaping the organization to embrace the age of AI, all while the company doubled in size from 300,000 to 750,000. Ellyn has become more than a partner, she has become a trusted friend. And what an amazing chapter of our lives we're both in now, becoming grandmothers almost at the same time – though as Ellyn is quick to remind me, she leapfrogged me with two when her daughter Jessie had twins. Congratulations on an incredible milestone and an extraordinary career, Ellyn. So looking forward to seeing all the ways you continue your mission!

If you lead with #Strategic, make sure that you are involved in the front end of new initiatives or enterprises. Your innovative yet procedural approach will be critical to the genesis of a new venture because it will keep its creators from developing deadly tunnel vision. The Strategic theme enables you to sort through the clutter and find the best route. It is not a skill that can be taught, it is a distinctive way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large. As the Chancellor of The University of Texas System, JB Milliken habitually generates many ideas at the beginning of a strategic project or problem-solving process. He starts with as many inputs as possible, adds creativity, and then progressively applies critical thinking and discipline to reach a highly effective solution.  https://lnkd.in/gtJYbUaZ

If you have #Relator high, you enjoy close relationships with others and find deep satisfaction in working hard with colleagues to achieve a goal. You strive to understand the feelings, goals, fears, and dreams of those you lead– to you, a relationship only has value if it is genuine. Create and maintain a workplace culture that fosters friendships, and let it be known that you are more interested in the character and personality of others than their status or job title. This is one of your greatest talents and can serve as a model for others. https://lnkd.in/ghEWAS9d

"I like to think that it is an advantage that we start broadly. That we start with as many inputs as possible and that we try to think creatively about how to resolve something." If you lead with #Strategic, you create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, you can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues. You almost always have a plan B, C and D, which helps you focus on the outcomes you want to achieve.   As the Chancellor of The University of Texas System, JB Milliken uses his Strategic theme to embrace an array of perspectives. He joins Gallup CEO Jon Clifton in the latest Leading With Strengths interview to discuss more. https://lnkd.in/gE4Du2PP
