1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Male breast cancer represents about 1% of all breast cancer cases diagnosed in the United States. Early detection saves lives. When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%. Remember that when a Colorado worker needs to file a FAMLI claim but is incapacitated and can’t do it themselves, a relative or someone legally authorized to make decisions on their behalf may do it for them. If you need to file a claim on behalf of a loved one who is incapacitated, you will file the claim using your own identity as a Designated Representative. Benefits are calculated on a sliding scale using your average weekly wage from the previous five calendar quarters in relation to the average weekly wage for the state of Colorado and may increase over time.
