EnterpriseSG - Latin America reposted this
🇸🇬 Minister of State for Trade & Industry, Culture, Community & Youth, Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC
🇸🇬🇧🇷 It’s the 3rd leg of my two-week long visit to Brazil, and I’m excited to lead our first ever Singapore #fintech mission to São Paulo. This mission was organised by Enterprise Singapore with the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA). 📊 Singapore is home to over 1,500 fintech firms, and our fintech industry accounted for over half of total funding raised in Southeast Asia in 2023. Brazil’s fintech industry is also booming, with > 2,000 fintech companies. Brazil’s fintech industry is the largest in Latin America, representing 25% of the regional market. This mission represents an incredible opportunity to bridge two of the most innovative fintech markets in the world. 👥 After a welcome dinner on Sunday, we kicked off our mission with a roundtable discussion hosted by ABFintechs, Brazil’s Fintech Association, featuring presentations on Brazil’s financial sector and regulatory landscape. 🤝 We then introduced our #fintech delegation to Brazilian companies in GIC’s portfolio - Nubank, Hotmart, QI Tech, Sankhya Gestão de Negócios, Warren and VR. 🇧🇷🇸🇬 We are stepping up our engagements in Brazil - the largest economy in Latin America and our biggest trading partner in the region. The signing of our MERCOSUR-Singapore Free Trade Agreement last year will help accelerate business, investment and trade between Brazil and Singapore. Ping my Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) and Enterprise Singapore team if you are a company keen on exploring opportunities in Brazil.
