FEMA Region 2’s Response Division is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist who will be responsible for serving on a team executing the full range Incident Management responsibilities for open and active disasters as an Operations Branch Director. This position is within the Response Division, Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) Branch in New York, NY, and is being announced under FEMA's IMAT Program. This is a 4-year temporary appointment in the Excepted Service. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Develops and implements operational response strategies during an emergencies or major disasters to stabilize incidents and coordinate emergency restoration of infrastructure. Develops, maintains, and executes operational plans supporting critical infrastructure response efforts. Collects, analyzes, and disseminates critical infrastructure information in partnership with Federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners. Builds partnerships with governmental and private sector incident or emergency response teams to foster collaboration and unified response. Typical assignments include: Executing the full range of data missions including sourcing, collection, information analysis, document development, and publication/dissemination of situational awareness products for active and open disasters. Ensuring data sharing and support requirements for active and open disasters are understood and all coordinated data sets are categorized appropriately. Supporting Equity Task Forces, Climate Adaptation groups, and the Whole of Community with data tools, analysis, and modeling to assist with response and subsequent programmatic delivery at active and open disasters.
