    Personal del equipo Nacional de Respuesta de Búsqueda y Rescate Urbanos junto a personal de Operaciones de la Región 2 y la Oficina del Caribe de FEMA facilitaron un taller para personal de los equipos de Respuesta de Búsqueda y Rescate Urbanos de las oficinas de manejo de emergencias municipales y de los Negociados para el Manejo de Emergencias, la Policía y Bomberos de Puerto Rico. Los equipos de Respuesta de Búsqueda y Rescate se entrenan para responder a operaciones físicas de búsqueda y rescate en derrumbes, entornos acuáticos; inspecciones y evaluaciones de estructuras y materiales peligrosos; estabilización de estructuras, manejo de unidades caninas, entre otros. Estos equipos son integrales y vitales en los esfuerzos de respuesta a emergencias y desastres, pues su labor principal es salvar vidas en momentos críticos. ——————— “Personnel from the National Urban Search and Rescue Response Team, along with staff from Operations of FEMA Region 2 and the Caribbean Office, facilitated a workshop for personnel from the Urban Search and Rescue Response teams of the municipal emergency management offices and the Emergency Management, Police, and Fire Departments of Puerto Rico. The Search and Rescue Response teams are trained to respond to physical search and rescue operations in collapses, aquatic environments; inspections and evaluations of structures and hazardous materials; structure stabilization, canine unit management, among others. These teams are integral and vital to emergency and disaster response efforts, as their primary mission is to save lives in critical moments.”
