GE Aerospace Research held the 2nd Annual Pumpkinpalooza on Tuesday, October 29. Nine teams gloved up and literally dug in, going head-to-head in an epic pumpkin carving competition. Jan Winner and Todd Alhart from Communications were “in studio” while News 10 ABC’s Ryan Peterson reported live from “the field.” Participants and onlookers were treated to apple cider donuts, fresh apples, and festive hot and cold beverages. Congrats to our pumpkin carving winners Turbo-Pumpkin Mk. II with team members: Adrian B. Dalagan Günther Beall Elizabeth Golden Alexandria Guo Casey Bradt and Spencer Moore

Congratulations to Eeshani Godbole, Ph.D. who received the The American Ceramic Society's Morgan Medal and Global Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award at this year's The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society's MS&t conference. Eeshani's thesis focused on the development of high temperature ceramic coatings like Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) present in modern day jet engines. She is helping to advance the future of flight ✈️ at GE Aerospace Research by continuing her work on coatings and other high temperature ceramic materials. #TMSFallMeeting #ceramics #aerospace

Happy World Space Week! 🌑 👨🚀 🌠 Blast from the past! Did you know, GE Aerospace (at the time, GE Company) developed the PEM fuel cells which were specifically designed for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini V spacecraft? The Gemini V was the third crewed Earth-orbiting spacecraft of the Gemini series, which carried astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles "Pete" Conrad in 1965. Checkout a picture of the GE fuel cell below ⤵️ #AerospaceResearch #WorldSpaceWeek #GE

Today marks the start of World Space Week! 🌑 👨🚀 🌠 To celebrate, let’s take a moment to acknowledge our very own Electronics and Sensing team who is working towards developing self-illuminating UV imager through their HOTTech program. With NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s grant, the team will create an imager that can withstand Venus’ temperature and pressure environment to study the composition and structure of the planet’s surface and atmosphere. Check out this article to learn more! ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/gzeDDSuJ #AerospaceResearch #WorldSpaceWeek #GE
