🌿 Celebrating 2 Years of Partnership with BGCI 🌿 Two years ago, we joined forces with Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) to share the vision of empowering more gardens, regardless of size or resources, to document their collections and contribute to global plant conservation. Since then, our mission has remained clear: make it easier and more efficient for botanical institutions to capture vital collection data, so they can focus on what matters most – protecting plant biodiversity. This recent story from Coffs Harbour Botanic Garden, Australia, is a perfect example of what’s possible when the right tools meet passionate people: 👉 Saving Syzygium glenum https://lnkd.in/dmgbM2dB Thank you to BGCI and all the gardens using Hortis to accelerate plant conservation and looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the years ahead! 🌱 #PlantConservation #BotanicGardens #Biodiversity #Hortis360 #Species360 #BGCI #ConservationTech

“This is exactly what Scottish gardens need!” We are so pleased to have welcomed so many along to the inaugural Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference yesterday at Cambo House. The day was packed with uplifting and fulfilling talks and workshops all thanks to our Headline Sponsor, Alitex . 📝 The day offered Scottish gardens and businesses alike a chance to hear an insightful review and outlook of Scottish tourism from VisitScotland, an update from Eden Project Dundee, news of the upcoming exhibition “Garden Futures” at V&A Dundee, helpful media workshop, a look at how Scone Palace is leading the way on large events and supporting garden tourism, and a behind the scenes account of the mammoth restoration project happening at Linn Botanic Garden. 🌸 Scottish garden tourism is often undervalued and yet our gardens attract hundreds of thousands domestic and international visitors every year. And that’s not all! Scottish gardens are a place where communities thrive, where we find peace, and green space which boosts our mental health and well-being. Gardens can also play a huge role in addressing climate change, conservation and rewilding initiatives. The Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference set the scene for delegates to be inspired through connection, networking, and information sharing. 👉 If you missed this event, then we’ve got good news: the 2026 Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference planning is well underway! Information for event sponsors and exhibitors will be shared soon, but if you’re eager to join in next year’s event then you’ll want to act fast as this event will likely be oversubscribed after a very successful launch. Email info@discoverscottishgardens.org for more information. 👏 Thank you to all the delegates who joined us, our exhibitors Hortis by Species360 Trellis Scotland Trybooking UK The RHS Direct Distribution, event sponsors Alitex and GMP Print Solutions Ltd, our wonderful event MC and DSG Director Craig Cameron, the Cambo Heritage Trust team Keri & Callum, DSG Directors Tony Stevenson Dougal Philip and Panny Laing, and Caroline Gould for delivering the first Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference.

Bristlecone pines (Pinus longaeva) are said to be the oldest known living trees. Methuselah is a Great Basin bristlecone pine that is an astonishing 4,856 years old! Found in high-altitude regions of the western United States, these trees have adapted to extreme conditions such as harsh winds, poor soil, and freezing temperatures – making them symbols of resilience and longevity. Their gnarled, weathered trunks tell the story of centuries past, surviving where few other plants can.
