About us
NAVFAC Southwest is responsible for public works, planning, engineering/design, construction, real estate, environmental services, and acquisition / disposal of facilities and real estate in a six state area on the West Coast. NAVFAC Southwest contracts with commercial businesses to produce and deliver construction for the military such as housing, piers, airfields and hospitals to name a few. The command also provides public works services such as transportation, maintenance, utilities/energy delivery, facilities management and base operations support to the Navy and Marine Corps Installations within its geographic area of responsibility as well as support to other federal agencies in California.

As my summer internship with NAVFAC Southwest nears its end, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible engineers at the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) Four Mechanical Engineering Team. Working with ALLAN UGALDE, Rey Quitangon, Le'Mon Benedicto, and Jeffrey Johnson has been an honor. Your mentorship has genuinely elevated my skills and broadened my knowledge in the construction industry. The diverse experiences you've shared, spanning government, military, and private sector projects—especially in HVAC, controls, and plumbing—have been invaluable. I’m also immensely grateful to my supervisor, RUFINO PAJE, for his unwavering support. Your guidance has been key to my growth as an engineering student, allowing me to explore the many facets of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) and navigate the nuances of working in government.
