We had a great time at #NSGC24! Meagan Cochran, Director of The Smith Family Clinic and Tanner Coleman, a Genetic Counselor at SFC presented their research at the National Society of Genetic Counselors conference, alongside Kelly East & Jada Pugh. We also caught up with a former HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology Biotrain intern, Ava, who is now in her second year at Genetic Counseling school at the The University of Texas at Austin! #Genechat #conference #NSGC24

Finding answers in your DNA
About us
The Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine, LLC., a wholly-owned subsidiary of HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, has been established to diagnose patients with undiagnosed and misdiagnosed diseases. Patients will be seen by a clinical geneticist who will evaluate symptoms, or patient phenotype, and determine whether whole genome sequencing or another genetic test is appropriate. The data found from the genomic sequence is then interpreted clinically to identify variants, or changes in the DNA, linked to the disease. Get in touch 256.327.9640.

The world of genetic testing has exploded in recent years, offering exciting possibilities to learn more about ourselves. There are two main ways for having your DNA tested: direct-to-consumer tests (think 23AndMe or AncestryDNA) and clinical genetic testing. Both analyze your DNA, but they are different in their purpose, process, and what you can use test results for. Which one is right for you? https://lnkd.in/gUMkA5_i #directtoconsumer #genetic #test #DNA #clinical
