About this mod

Improves the dragonborn breath weapon:
- breath weapon can be used <proficiency bonus> times per short rest (starts at 2).
- it can be used as part of extra attack, but only once per turn.
- the damage scales up as you level, like a cantrip.

Does the dragonborn breath weapon feel weak to you? This mod improves it, while still remaining balanced.
The breath weapon can now be used <proficiency bonus> times per short rest (starts at 2). It can also be used as part of extra attack, but only once per turn (i.e. a level 5 dragonborn fighter can make one melee weapon attack and use their breath weapon on their turn). Also, the damage scales as you level, like a cantrip.
Note that if your character's breath weapon is already on cooldown, installing this mod won't reset it. In other words, a rest will still be required to use it, but afterwards will not require a rest per use.

Installation
Installation of mods for Baldur's Gate 3 requires modifying the `modsettings.lsx` file, found in the game documents directory, under `PlayerProfiles/Public`.
However, if modifying .xml files isn't something you're comfortable with, a mod manager exists which does this automatically.
Your load order should look something like this:
NOTE: It is important to load this mod after other mods which modify dragonborn breath weapons! Otherwise, things may break!

Addons
I have created a number of addons for this mod which change some core functionality. Make sure to place them after the main file in your load order.
Fizban's Treasury of Dragons - Breath Weapon Charges now replenish on a long rest instead of short rest and damage scales in D10s, just like the 5e sourcebook of the same name.
Elemental Surface Effects - Breath weapons now create elemental surface effects (such as a fire zone, or a poison puddle). Some of the effects might feel somewhat unbalanced to some, so it is provided separately.

Patches
Anyone is welcome to create patches using this mod's files!
This mod should work with any other mod which modifies the breath weapon abilities as long as this mod is loaded after those mods.
Extra Attack Compatibility (EAC) is required for extra attack to work with breath weapons. Mods which don't use EAC require patches to work. Some legacy patches are available, but be aware that these patches will break EAC.

I do not plan to maintain these patches, or making new ones to fix Extra Attack. If your favourite mod doesn't work with extra attack, ask the modder to use EAC!
