Most will argue that the native home screen UI on BlackBerry smartphones may look a bit dated compared to some of the eye catching visuals featured on other platforms. Now it's unclear whether or not this is an actual application or if it's something RIM is working on, but the BlackBerry Super App aims to give the platform some much needed eye candy to its usual mundane looking interface. It appears that the BlackBerry Super App seems to be some kind of home screen that's showcasing a handful of useful information that really looks to be a departure from what we normally see. Based on the sole screenshot, it can't be verified if it is a BlackBerry application – but despite all of that, it may soon signal the birth of some nice looking applications out of RIM. After holding a webinar to show developers the potentials of the BlackBerry Super App, RIM will really need to verify that the tools used in the creation of it will be made available to them. If they really can pull this out and get this integrated into future apps, the BlackBerry platform may become a formidable force in the app market.
