Facebook Messenger Lite now available to save data on stateside Android phones

Considering that Facebook Messenger Lite has been available only in developing countries, what is Facebook saying about wireless service in the U.S. now that the data saving version of the app is offered in the states? With some of the data munching features like Messenger Day and selfie lenses absent from the app, users are less likely to consume obscene amounts of data while using it.

Actually, Facebook really isn't making a statement about U.S. wireless service. It merely is offering up another option for those Android users who need to stay connected using a messaging app, but don't want to consume or waste data playing around with other features. In addition to saving on data consumption, at 10MB the app will also save on storage space when you install it.
