So what does a developer have to do when their iPhone app becomes more successful than what they could've imagined? How about branching out and making it available on other platforms to really cash in – which is thanks to the explosion of popularity being garnered by it. Well that's exactly what Firemint, the creator of the highly popular iPhone game called Flight Control, plans on doing with one of the big time names in the console world. They've teamed up with Namco Networks and already released the game on the Nintendo DSiWare – it's also expected to make an appearance on other platforms like Java, Windows Mobile, BREW, and Android sometime in July 2010. This title managed to exceed the expectations of its developers after it sold over 2 million copies through the App Store – that's also a good reason to branch out to get as much exposure as possible. Firemint's CEO, Robert Murray, was extremely excited about the deal and said “It will be a great feat to see our game reach an even broader demographic with the mobile edition.” If you haven't checked out the game yourself, you can download it for a mere $0.99 over at the App Store.
