Opera Max now compresses YouTube and Netflix videos, saving you data and dollars
The Opera Max Data management app has saved money and data for Android users over the years by compressing content as it gets sent to your handset. By saving as much as 50% of your data use over 4G LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi, using Opera Max allows you to stretch out your data to make it last longer. This saves you money. However, up until now YouTube and Netflix videos could not be compressed by Opera Max.
Opera says that it will be adding compression support for more HTTPS video services in the following months. Right now, offering compression on YouTube and Netflix alone should help many Android users save on data and dollars. You can learn more by clicking on the video at the top of the story. By the way, Opera Max is still a free download from the Google Play Store.
