Samsung Galaxy Golden is an Android clamshell with old looks but new specs
A new clamshell flip phone is apparently coming from Samsung. This seems to be a completely different model than the Samsung Hennessy  (SCH-W789) that we told you about on Friday. Where that model will allegedly have 3.5 inch dual screens, the SHV-400EK, known as the Samsung Galaxy Golden, will have 3.75 inch dual-screens. The phone will have a numerical dial pad with triple tap letter entry.

Thanks to a leaked user's manual, we can tell you that the dual-screens on the Samsung Galaxy Golden will be AMOLED displays with resolution of 480 x 800 on each. A quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor is driving the device with 2GB of RAM onboard, There are two cameras, an FM-radio and an 1820mAh battery. Android 4.1.2 is installed out of the box which means the clamshell will include the smooth scrolling of Project Butter, usable information from Google Now and time saving actionable notifications. The phone does support LTE bands 3 and 8.

The Samsung Galaxy Golden (aka Samsung Galaxy Folder) is expected to be launched later this month in Korea for SK Telecom and Korea Telecom. A launch in China for China Mobile is also possible and there could be further distribution of the phone depending on how much demand there still is for a form factor that was thought to have expired with the dinosaurs.
