TENAA certifies Huawei ATH-AL00; Honor model features sliding camera system
The Huawei ATH-AL00 has been certified in China by regulatory agency TENAA. Pictures snapped of the device reveal that it is part of Huawei's Honor series, and will certainly get an easier to remember moniker when it is ready to be unveiled to the public. The photos also show that the model is sporting a unique camera system that requires the user to slide the rear camera up in order to reveal the front facing camera and dual flash. By employing this sliding system, Huawei is able to reduce the size of the top bezel and include a stronger flash for selfies.

To unlock the camera, there is a large button located on one side of the handset, which could also double as a fingerprint scanner. The unit also sports a dedicated shutter button. Unfortunately, TENAA did not post a list of specs for the device, which reportedly will have a home-grown Kirin chipset under the hood and 3GB or 4GB of RAM inside.

There is also going to be a variant of the phone which has the model number ATH-AL00H. Huawei, like a number of other phone manufacturers out of China, has been offering consumers the option of buying a new handset with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, or paying up for a combo consisting of 4GB RAM with 64GB of native memory.

Hopefully, we will get the opportunity to pass along the name of this new Huawei Honor phone and its specs before it sees the light of day for the first time.
