Waiting to order the 1TB model of Microsoft’s Surface Book? Bring lots of money
When Microsoft was making headline after headline at its recent media event in New York, one of the more notable announcements was the Surface Book. The Surface Book is a laptop/tablet hybrid, packing top-spec hardware along the same veins as the successful Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4.
From the get-go, customers could begin pre-ordering the new hardware, with solid-state hard capacities up to 512GB, Intel i7, and dedicated graphics for $2,699.
Indeed it does. The 1TB SSD Microsoft Surface Book comes in with a high-altitude price tag of $3,199. Of course, this places the top-shelf Surface Book squarely against the current MacBook Pro which, similarly optioned out, costs the same amount of money.
While all Surface Book pre-orders are set to ship in the next 6 to 8 weeks, the 1TB Surface Book will not ship until early next year.
