Motorola Razr Plus (2024) camera: A better main camera and a telephoto instead of an ultra-wide
The new Razr Plus (2024) is Motorola's flagship foldable phone for this year and it had built up quite the hype around its new camera system. Motorola made some peculiar decisions with the secondary camera and added a brand new main one.
After reviewing the Razr Plus (2024), we were left overall happy with the performance of the main camera, but somewhat underwhelmed by the image quality from the new telephoto snapper.
The front camera situated at the top of the main display remains unchanged, and continues to snap pretty nice selfies, although you might want to utilize the flip formfactor and use the main camera instead.

Razr Plus (2024) camera upgrades
New main camera
Motorola ditched the 13MP main camera featured on the Razr Plus (2023) and replaced it with a 50MP one on the new Razr Plus this year. It performed admirably as you will see from the camera samples below, and it scored a 76 in our PhoneArena Camera Score, which is only a little under the 86, which is the best score any phone has achieved so far.
Bye-bye ultra-wide and hello telephoto
Yes, you read that right: the Razr Plus (2024) no longer has an ultra-wide camera but a 50MP 2X telephoto snapper instead! Some might not like this change, but it seems that, according to Motorola, it is what buyers want more nowadays, which is a statement we would also lean towards.
We honestly expected a bit more from the 2X telephoto camera on the Razr Plus (2024), especially given the 50MP resolution. Alas, the image quality is a bit disappointing even at 2X optical zoom.
Things quickly go downhill when you try the 5X and 10X digital zoom. The level of detail is the main issue we have here, but the HDR performance is not exactly pleasing either, with the darker areas going extremely black.
The new Razr Plus (2024) comes with cool new features like Auto Focus Tracking, where you tap a person or animal to keep them in focus, as well as Adaptive Stabilization, which adjusts the stabilization based on how you are holding the phone and your movements.
While both the main and the 2X telephoto cameras have optical image stabilization, it surprisingly seems to work better on the telephoto. Video taken by the main (wide) camera has a bit of jitter to it when you start to move around more.
