We've all been in a place where we feel desperate for change with no idea how to begin. Many of us seek out counselling to address specific issues while others look for an ongoing therapeutic relationship to serve as a sounding board. Counselling can nurture the development of the necessary tools to make meaningful changes in pursuit of a more balanced and fulfilling life, something everyone deserves to have. Through an eclectic therapeutic approach, I strive to connect with each client in unique ways to best match their strengths and goals. Let's work together to figure out what works best for you to get you where you need to go.

We can find ourselves feeling lost, stuck or disconnected. It can look like patterns of anxiety, perfectionism, fear of failure, overthinking, difficulty with emotions or people pleasing. Or be the result of adverse childhoods, relational/complex trauma, inequity, injustice or burnout.  I wholeheartedly believe we all have the ability to have fulfilling relationships, to experience joy and to lead meaningful lives. Sometimes we just need guidance on reconnecting with our true selves and a sense of purpose, or support in rebuilding resilience. This is where my role as your therapist is immensely invaluable and rewarding.

Life can be extremely painful and difficult, especially when you don't have healthy relationships with people that you trust, or that understand you. Authentic connection to self and others is a fundamental need for humans, and without it we can feel even more alone, empty, depressed, anxious, or we can feel that life is meaningless. Not everyone we know is able to handle the weight of our struggles, and this can make it harder to reach out when support is needed. We also may be afraid to burden others with our problems, or we may feel that something is "wrong" with us if we seek help, causing us to suffer in silence.

When one individual tries to solve multiple problems at the same time, things can easily get overwhelming. My sessions focus on helping my clients narrow down their problems to manageable goals, help them detangle their thoughts and gain clarity on their situation. I help them manage overwhelming emotions, such as anxiety, guilt and shame, and gain a sense of direction when dealing with life transitions. My approach helps my clients focus on parts of their problem that are within their control, while making sure that these changes have a trickle effect on aspects they want to change, but have no control over.

Are you struggling with overwhelm, indecision, pain, or powerlessness? Are there parts of you that have been silenced, shamed, or oppressed that need a space to be heard? I work with adults of all ages to help make sense of their experiences, process past trauma, feel awake to the current moment, and create a path toward renewal and growth. I believe that we all deserve to develop our sense of self and our sense of meaning in a compassionate and non-judgmental space. Together, we can give voice to the many parts of your internal and relational world and start to build towards the changes you want to see in your life.

Counselling can be seen as planting a seed that, with nurturing and attention, will grow into something beautiful. Every individual is akin to a seed that undergoes continual growth, advancing through each fleeting season filled with moments of happiness, sorrows, triumphs, bravery, disappointments, and fresh starts. Like seeds, humans require sources and resources to aid them in reaching their full potential, such as sunlight, rain, and soil. And just like every seed holds importance, every human being also possesses inherent value. By choosing to seek counseling, you have taken the first step towards transformation.

I am a settler in Canada, a BIPOC woman, and I am aware of my social location and its many privileges, so I strive to always learn and stay humble.
My approach as a trauma psychotherapist is multi-layered, drawing from a range of modalities, including but not limited to: Compassionate Inquiry (CI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness practices. I am also trained in psychedelics-assisted psychotherapy. This broad range of skills allows me to design the most individualized approach for each client’s unique needs. I have a particular interest in trauma, anxiety, addictions, depression, eating disorders, grief, and psychedelic integration.

The primary focus of my practice is supporting individuals who are feeling stuck in life. Together we explore the often invisible yet powerful forces (internal and external) that can shape our lives and move us away from our values and toward distress. We also explore the benefit of using emotion to guide us toward values and a greater sense of peace. Over the course of therapy my clients engage in guided self reflection and generally experience a gradual unfolding of insight, the illumination of a meaningful path forward, and the courage to move through fear in service to their preferred future.

As a humanistic therapist, I believe that all people are inherently good and deserving of respect. There is so much stigma and shame in our culture around the very characteristics that make us uniquely human. I'm passionate about helping adults on their journey toward healing after trauma and exploring the intricacies of their identities. With a background in psychology and counseling, I am dedicated to creating a safe and empathic space for self-exploration, growth, and liberation. We could be a good fit to work together if you are looking to connect with your inner wisdom to live an authentic life that aligns with your values.

Welcome! My approach to counselling is based on the belief that every person is capable of growth and change. I believe we all hold a story that has shaped us into the person we are today and a hope for what our story might look like in the future. As a counsellor, I aim to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can explore aspects of these stories and any internal or external barriers that may be keeping you stuck.
