My name is Danielle (she/her), and I'm currently completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology practicum with Coastal Health NL. In 2019 I completed my BA in Sociology from Memorial University, and have spent the last 5 years providing counselling-related services to survivors of domestic violence. I also have 5 years experience in crisis intervention, support, and advocacy with survivors of sexual violence. My background is in a critical feminist, trauma-informed framework, which I carry forward in my practice today. I am a queer practitioner and have a passion for affirmative counselling with LGBTQ+ clients.
My approach to counselling is person-centered and strengths-based, and I view counselling as a collaborative process where we will work together to determine how to best address your needs. I utilize techniques from evidence-based models, such as CBT and DBT, to help clients build the toolset they need to better cope with life's difficulties.
