I work with children across the developmental spectrum from 0 – 18 years old. I specialize working with children who have experienced complex and developmental trauma including those impacted by abuse, neglect, trauma, loss and disrupted care. Difficulties can look like emotional dysregulation, tantrums, anxiety, depression, withdrawal, low confidence, parental challenges etc. I provide caregivers support and work collaboratively with professional systems surrounding the family. My therapeutic input supports developing an understanding and creating common language about the difficulties for both children and caregivers.
We will work together towards building emotional literacy, resilience, skill building and coping strategies within your child and family. I work from an integrative approach drawing from evidence-based models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) including Trauma Focused CBT, Narrative therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Family systems.
I also offer Video Interaction of Positive Parenting (VIPP) for children between 0-7 years old. This is a strength based approach which helps increase the bond between the child and parent. For more information about VIPP please visit www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/vipp.
