Therapy is a powerful process that can open you up in ways that are familiar and unexpected. It can be both scarry and beautiful. But what is most important is that you trust and feel safe with the person you are opening up to. As a Gestalt trained humanist psychotherapist with over 20 years of varied therapeutic experience I make the cultivation of that relationship and your trust the foundation of our work. Once this co-created safe space is established, no matter what shows up in sessions – fear, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, trauma, depression, family issues, alienation, substance use, feelings of inadequacy -
we will be able to face it together, make sense of it, and make peace with it. That said, finding a therapist that meets your emotional needs and your schedule can be daunting. I've tried to mitigate this in 2 ways: First, I offer a free half hour confidential meeting – by phone, zoom or in person – that allows us to get to know each other a bit. Second,
therapy is expensive, so I am open to negotiating a fee we can both live with. Also, I’m licensed under the Ont. Social Work College so most Insurers cover me.
