My first priority is always to help my clients feel comfortable opening up and talking about what needs to be talked about. I view all of the "work" that occurs in therapy as secondary or subsequent to the building of that relationship. I tell my clients that they may not always feel completely comfortable in sessions because it is sometimes necessary to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones and talk about things that are painful or difficult to talk about. However, you can always trust me to be warm, empathetic, and compassionate.
How are your thought patterns, feelings, and behaviours connected? What can we learn from meaningful past experiences, both positive and negative? What can we learn from examining the dynamics and patterns of your current relationships? These are questions I explore with my clients with the goal of identifying what we can work on together.
Outside of therapy, my interests include music, movies, sports, and travel. I have a lively personality and sense of humour, which I do not attempt to hide from my therapy clients.
