I am a board certified psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience in Atlanta, GA. I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Emory University Hospital, Wesley Woods Hospital, and Grady Hospital. My experience includes managing patients with treatment resistant mental illness and co-occurring medical illness. I have also been involved with several clinical research studies studying the effectiveness of various antidepressants, antipsychotics, and lithium.

Latina Heard is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who manages and treats a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, insomnia, and ADHD. My nursing career started in 1980 from Nigeria, where I worked in all areas of nursing. Moved to the United States in 1984, I was in Los Angeles, California for 10 years, and in 1994 I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997, I focused mainly on mental health conditions in our state psychiatry hospital, later transition to the Federal level at the Atlanta VA mostly with the adult populations. I consider myself a compassionate and caring individual with a special passion for those who serve our nation, as I am a mother of two Air Force Veterans.
