I have 19 years of experience counseling children, adults, couples, and families and am here to offer you support as you push through the obstacles in the way of your path to good health and well-being.

I have an unusual background for a psychotherapist. Before I started my counseling career, I worked as a TV news reporter, an online media executive, and an adjunct college professor. This diverse experience in journalism, business, and education has given me valuable skills that I use in my counseling practice. My sense of humor is another important part of my counseling style. I take my work with clients seriously, but there are times when therapy needs to include some humor. I also offer life coaching for clients who want to make some changes but don't know where to start.

Life presents an array of joys and challenges, of which, both can be stressful. We all face problems that can be very difficult to manage at times. During these times, we may be emotionally and/or mentally unable to handle our issues alone or with the casual advice of family and friends. You are unique and so is your story. Our counselors are trained in a unique approach to therapy that helps clients in ways specific to their personality and experiences, no matter their age. We help children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families find healing at the root cause of their stress, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, and/or depression. Many of our clients come to us in emotional pain, often stuck, lost, or hurting. Through our work together, our clients finish counseling with more fulfillment, increased energy, better direction, and more joy.

There is a solution. There is hope. And there is healing. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disruption in relationships, substance abuse, and on and on. These are curable, changeable, healable issues. When you go straight to the root of the issue, you can bring deep, lasting change. And we now know that the root of every mental health disorder (and many physical diseases as well) is some form of unresolved trauma. Trauma refers to any experience or pattern of experiences that overwhelms our resources. If we don't have enough safety, support and understanding to process it, we store it.

You may have heard people say, "I don't know how you do it", but in your mind you're wishing someone would tell you that you didn't have to. You may be used to showing up for others and holding it all together. Oftentimes we wear a mask and even though we hope for someone to see behind it, there's a fear of feeling like a burden if they did.
