Black Friday mattress deals officially land on Friday 29 November this year, but we know from previous sales that discounts start arriving a couple of weeks beforehand. So you don’t have to wait until actual Black Friday to buy a new mattress for less – most will be on sale long before then.

Our team reports on every major mattress sale throughout the year and we regard November’s Black Friday mattress deals as the singular best time to buy a mattress. Why? Because prices are at their lowest and discounts are at their highest. This leads to bigger savings compared to the rest of the year.

You’ll find deals on every type of mattress too (from memory foam to hybrid), with all budgets covered. We expect every recommended option in our best mattress of 2024 guide to be on sale this Black Friday, and predict that Saatva, Helix, DreamCloud, Nectar Sleep, Casper, Puffy, and Tempur-Pedic will be among the top Black Friday sales this year.

We’ll be updating this guide regularly with the best Black Friday mattress deals as they arrive, so you won’t miss a saving. We’ll also be sharing our top tips for how to choose a mattress that suits your sleep and your budget, and where to shop and when to bag the cheapest prices.

Today's best mattress sales

Black Friday mattress deals 2024: The 6 best early sales

1. Saatva Classic mattress: $1,395$1,095 at Saatva

1. Saatva Classic mattress: from $1,395 $1,095 at Saatva
The Saatva Classic is a handcrafted innerspring hybrid that looks and feels like a high-end hotel bed. This is the best hybrid mattress we've tested and our top recommendation over all for every type of sleeper. The Classic comes in three firmness levels and two different heights (11.5" or 14.5"), so it's customizable. We awarded it a near-perfect score in our Saatva Classic mattress review, praising the pressure relief for aching joints, and lumbar support for less back pain. Right now a queen size Classic costs $1,795 (was $2,095), which is $100 more expensive than the best price of 2024: $1,695 for a queen. We predict that the cost of Saatva mattresses will drop again for Black Friday, so consider waiting for a better Saatva mattress sale if you don't need to buy urgently. If you do need a new mattress now and want the Saatva Classic, then $1,795 is still good value for a handcrafted mattress made with premium materials. You'll also get a year's sleep trial, lifetime warranty and free mattress installation with old bed removal.

2. The DreamCloud Mattress:from $419 at DreamCloud

2. The DreamCloud Mattress: from $419 at DreamCloud
If you love the sound of the Saatva Classic (above) but have a smaller budget, The DreamCloud hybrid is our top alternative recommendation. All of the testers for our DreamCloud mattress review loved sleeping on this hybrid, noting that while it does need a couple of weeks' breaking in, after that it's one of the comfiest beds you'll sleep on. We rate The DreamCloud as this year's best mattress in a box for all budgets, with a queen size costing $665 right now. That price has been in place since last Black Friday, thanks to a monthly DreamCloud mattress sale offering up to 50% off. Considering The DreamCloud is over $1,000 cheaper than the Saatva Classic, you're still getting a lot of mattress for your money here. The benefits are nearly as good too, with a lifetime warranty and year's sleep trial. DreamCloud only comes with free standard shipping though – Saatva's free White Glove Delivery includes installation and the team will take away your packaging and old mattress and base.

3. Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress:now from $349 at Nectar

3. Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress: now from $349 at Nectar
Nectar redesigned all of its boxed mattresses, with the Nectar Classic Memory Foam replacing the original Nectar (see our Nectar mattress review for info). We're testing the new model right now, and early data tells us that it's one of the best memory foam mattresses you can buy in this year's Black Friday sales. The current deal price of $649 for a queen is the best we've seen yet, and we don't expect prices to get any cheaper for Black Friday either. So there's no need to delay buying if you need a new mattress now and want the Nectar Classic. Because it's on the firmer side of medium-firm, we recommend it to stomach and back sleepers of any weight, plus average weight side sleepers. It contours gently, but doesn't suck you down into the mattress like a Tempur-Pedic bed would. The benefits match DreamCloud's, with a year's trial, lifetime warranty and free standard shipping.

4. Linenspa Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Queen:was $249.99$191.99 at Amazon

4. Linenspa Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Queen: was $249.99 $191.99 at Amazon
Looking for a cheap memory foam mattress this side of Black Friday? This is an excellent deal available right now at Amazon in the aftermath of this year's Prime Day sales. The Linenspa Memory Foam Hybrid is a worth considering at the current sale price of $191.99 (was $249.99) for a queen. It didn't blow us away in any particular department, and we felt it lacked both edge support and general support for heavy people, but it's an ideal kids' or teen mattress. We'd also recommend it for sprucing up your guest bed. This is the best deal we've seen all year on the Linenspa Memory Foam Hybrid (previous cheapest price was $219.99 for a queen), but it's only available on the queen size. If you want a good deal on smaller or larger sizes, you may have to wait and see what Black Friday brings.

5. Bear Elite Hybrid mattress:was from $1,893$1,231 at Bear Mattress

5. Bear Elite Hybrid mattress: was from $1,893 $1,231 at Bear Mattress
Like the Saatva Classic, the Bear Elite Hybrid is available in three firmness levels so it can be tailored to any body weight and sleeping position. Testers for our Bear Elite Hybrid mattress review rated it highly for lower back support and cooling, proclaiming it the best option for hot sleepers with lower back pain. There's a good deal on the Bear Elite Hybrid this side of Black Friday, with 35% off plus two free cooling pillows. We did see a 40% discount during the Memorial Day sales, and we have a feeling Bear will reintroduce that for Black Friday. So you might want to hang on a few weeks longer. If you can't wait, a queen Elite Hybrid costs $1,499 (was $2,305) right now. You'll get 120 nights to trial it at home, plus a lifetime warranty and free shipping.

6. Tempur-Pedic Tempur PROBreeze: $3,999$2,799 at Tempur-Pedic

6. Tempur-Pedic Tempur PROBreeze: from $3,999 $2,799 at Tempur-Pedic
Tempur-Pedic makes some of the best cooling mattresses in the world but they are very expensive. If you're happy with a past-season Tempur cooling bed and one that's final sale only – so no returns, exchanges or a sleep trial – then we highly recommend this Black Friday special on the Tempur PROBreeze. There's a huge discount on this cooling bed, with up to $2,399 if you buy now. The Tempur PROBreeze comes in a medium-firm feel, which we know from our various mattress tests is a comfort level that suits most bodies. A SmartClimate cover is infused with cooling fibers to keep the mattress cool to the touch (no more searching for a cool spot), while Phase Change Material removes heat build-up to keep you cool during sleep. The pressure relief is also outstanding, though not as good as the Tempur-Adapt (read our Tempur-Adapt mattress review for info). No brand has beaten this Black Friday cooling mattress deal for sheer size of discount yet.

Black Friday mattress deals 2024: FAQs

When is Black Friday 2024?

This year Black Friday falls on Friday November 29, which is the day after Thanksgiving. Based on previous sales, we fully expect most of the Black Friday mattress deals to roll over to the Saturday and Sunday. Many of these will then appear in the Cyber Monday mattress deals and these will be your last chance to buy a good mattress at a much cheaper price.

After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, mattress prices start to slowly increase again until we see the arrival of the Presidents' Day mattress sales in February.

Don't forget that while Black Friday itself happens on the last Friday in November, many key mattress brands are offering their official sales now.

Is Black Friday a good time to buy a mattress?

Yes, Black Friday is the best time to buy a new mattress for less. Nearly all of the top-rated mattresses sold online and in store are discounted during the Black Friday mattress sales, with hundreds of dollars' worth of savings on offer. Some of the more competitive brands will offer money off plus free sleep gifts, such as pillows and mattress protectors.

Black Friday is without question the best time of year to buy a new mattress. The discounts can range up to 50% off, which is a significant saving on a top-rated mattress

Claire Davies, Sleep Editor

There are other times of the year when we also recommend buying a new mattress, and these include Presidents' Day in February, plus the Memorial Day mattress sales and the Labor Day Mattress sales in September. However, as good as those deals normally are, none will come close to beating Black Friday as this is when we see the biggest discounts coupled with the cheapest mattress prices.

What do we mean? You may see a 30% discount on the same mattress during Black Friday and the Presidents' Day sales. But from our experience, the base price of the mattress will nearly always be cheaper during Black Friday, so that 30% discount will save you more.

Black Friday mattress deals deliver the biggest savings of the year, with potentially several hundred dollars worth of savings on some of the year's top-rated mattresses. These holiday sales are incredibly popular because they deliver such cheap prices on otherwise pricey new beds – many of them from leading sleep brands including Saatva, Casper, Purple, Nectar Sleep, DreamCloud, Avocado Green Mattress and Helix Sleep in the States.

In the UK, Black Friday mattress deals are a smaller affair yet no less beneficial to anyone shopping for a great mattress at a cheap price. In the UK we normally see Black Friday sales from Simba Sleep, Nectar Sleep, Emma Sleep, Brook + Wilde, Silentnight, Eve and REM-Fit.

Cyber Monday vs Black Friday mattress deals

Outside of the Christmas period, there are two big shopping dates left on the calendar where mattress brands and retailers launch their best sales of the year: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday mattress sales take place on the Monday directly after Black Friday, so you may be wondering which is the best day for deals: Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale dates

Black Friday mattress deals officially begin on Friday 29 November 2024, the day after Thanksgiving 2024. Cyber Monday mattress sales officially start on Monday 1 December 2024 and will end that same day.

The answer is simple: they are pretty much the same sale, albeit with a name change. Black Friday mattress deals roll over to Cyber Monday mattress sales, giving you one last chance to buy a great bed for a much cheaper price.

While there may be one or two deals that don't transfer across from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, the vast majority of them do. Similarly, one or two mattress brands may save a really big price drop for Cyber Monday exclusively but this is rare as most companies don't want to risk missing out on all those Black Friday mattress shoppers.

Remember, some leading mattress in a box brands launch flash sales as early as this month, and these may have bigger discounts than what we'll see in either the Black Friday or Cyber Monday mattress sales. Brands that have done this in the past include Nectar Sleep, DreamCloud and Tempur-Pedic, so bookmark this guide as we'll be updating it almost daily with the latest deals and flash sales.

Do stores have Black Friday mattress deals?

Major mattress stores always run Black Friday sales, and some of them can be as good as the deals we see online. The difference is that you'll need to travel to the store to see what discounts they are offering on which mattresses.

If you're keen to buy a mattress in store instead of online during Black Friday, we'd encourage you to ask the sales staff the following questions to make sure you are getting a good deal and fair purchasing terms:

  • What is the MSRP of this mattress?
  • What is the lowest price you have sold it for recently?
  • What trial period does it come with?
  • What is the warranty period?
  • What is your refund and exchange policy?
  • Do you offer free shipping?
  • Do you offer old mattress removal either for free or at a cost?
  • How long does this Black Friday mattress deal last for?

When do Black Friday mattress deals arrive?

The Black Friday sale starts on the last Friday in November each year, so the 2024 Black Friday mattress deals will arrive on Friday 29 November. Black Friday is immediately followed by Cyber Monday, which will land on Monday 1 December.

These sales are the best time to buy a mattress for less, and in previous years we have seen discounts ranging from 30-60% off. That can add up to several hundred dollars, and some of the mattress deals sell out quickly. Casper and Tempur-Pedic, for instance, usually sell out of their budget models on Black Friday.

However, many brands have already started to offer Black Friday mattress deals. These early deals are great if you can't wait till the end of the month.

In previous years, we have seen early Black Friday mattress deals arrive during the first week of November if not earlier. We expect the same this year

Louis Ramirez, Senior Deals Editor

However, some mattress brands choose to publish their Black Friday mattress deals as early as late October or the first week of November. These can include Flash Sales — Nectar and DreamCloud have done this in previous years — and time-limited sales to get more people to buy ahead of Black Friday.

We’ll be analyzing these mattress deals closely as and when they arrive, and only the best will be included in this Black Friday guide. Our experts will look at the mattress itself that’s on sale, then compare that sale price with how much the mattress has been selling for throughout this year and in previous years. We’ll share all of the information with you so that you can make an informed purchase.

Where to find the best Black Friday mattress deals

Based on recent years, online is the best place to find the largest Black Friday discounts on mattresses. That's because online stores don't have the same bricks and mortar costs as physical shops so they can pass those savings on to you in the form of cheaper mattress prices.

However there can be up to 50+ sales running at any one time during Black Friday and through to Cyber Monday, so learning how to spot the best deals before they sell out is important.

Our mattress experts have years of shopping the Black Friday mattress sales so we can quickly spot the great deals and which ones we see every month that have just been dressed with clever marketing language as a Black Friday sale. Our editors also track the price history of every major mattress on the market, so we tell you if the sale price of a mattress is genuinely lower or not.

In no particular order, the following brands and retailers are where we normally find the best Black Friday mattress deals:

  • Saatva
  • Mattress Firm
  • Nectar Sleep
  • DreamCloud
  • Helix Sleep
  • Tempur-Pedic
  • Casper
  • Purple

Is the Bed, Bath & Beyond Black Friday sale good?

Every year there is a Bed, Bath & Beyond Black Friday mattress sale and this covers mattresses, plus bedding and accessories such as pillows and blankets. You'll find some well-known brands on sale, including Zinus, Lucid, Sealy, Serta and Beautyrest. Mnny of these mattress brands appear in the Mattress Firm sale too, as well as on Amazon, so it's good to compare deals prices across all three sites before buying.

Right now, Bed, Bath & Beyond has the best Black Friday mattress deal on the Zinus 8 Inch Green Tea Luxe Memory Foam Mattress, discounting a queen to just $156 – on Amazon it's also reduced, but only to $260. We'll be updating this page regularly with the best Black Friday mattress deals from Bed, Bath & Beyond, with savings of up to 40% on affordable mattresses in a box.

Can I get free bedding with mattresses on Black Friday?

Lots of mattress brands throw in free pillows, mattress protectors, duvets and even weighted blankets as a way to sweeten their deals. This is something we see most months, regardless of Black Friday, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday in past years we have seen an increase in the number of free bedding gifts coupled with larger discounts on the mattresses. That’s why the Black Friday mattress sales are an excellent time to buy a new bed.

Black Friday mattress deals 2024: Shopping tips

How to choose a good mattress during Black Friday

Buying a new mattress can be intimidating. However, many bed-in-a-box companies have made the process simple. Some companies even offer white glove service and will remove your old mattress when delivering your new one.

Don't get swayed by price alone – always keep your sleep position and comfort needs in mind when buying a new mattress

Claire Davies, Sleep Editor

Keep in mind that while you may see ultra cheap deals on Black Friday, a mattress is something you will use every night of your life. In other words, if there's one item you should splurge on — a mattress would be it. (Alternatively, you can invest in one of the best mattress toppers).

That said, our favorite overall mattress comes from Nectar. The company has crafted a mattress that's both comfortable and economical. Other noteworthy brands include Saatva, Allswell, and Purple. Below you'll find our Black Friday mattress deals for these and other top-rated brands.

Things to keep in mind before you buy

  • Never pay full price: Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the best time to buy a new mattress or new bedding. Other holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day pale in comparison to the Black Friday mattress sales you'll see in the coming months. In other words, rest assured you're getting the lowest price of the year.
  • Know your return policy: Never buy a mattress without knowing the manufacturer's return policy. On paper, it may sound like the mattress of your dreams, but it could wind up being too firm or too soft for your liking. This is even more important now that most of us are doing our shopping online. A good return policy will offer at least a 100-night trial with free return shipping and no penalty fees. Some companies will go so far as offering 18-months trials with free return shipping.
