The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support and advice on a wide range of matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: • Provide legal advice and support on trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, and supply chain finance. • Advise on banking and finance matters, including loan agreements, security documentation, and regulatory compliance. • Draft, review, negotiate and structure a variety of legal documents and contracts. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal risks are identified and managed effectively. • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide proactive legal guidance. • Ensuring financial transactions comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan agreements, financial contracts and other legal documents. • Manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: • LLB or equivalent legal degree • Admitted attorney • Minimum of 8 years of experience in trade finance and banking & finance law, preferably in a corporate or financial institution setting. • Strong knowledge of international trade finance instruments and banking regulations. • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Proven work experience as a Banking and Finance Lawyer. • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills. • High ethical standards, professionalism and professional integrity. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Lead with us at Access Bank South Africa Compliance Officer (Finance, Credit, Operations & HR) We are seeking an experienced Compliance Office to oversee enablement functions within the bank, including Operations, Credit, Human Resources, and Finance departments.
