Aspen's flagship manufacturing site, based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape is the largest on the continent with both domestic and export capability. The site consists of six facilities that manufacture and pack a broad range of pharmaceutical products ranging from oral solid dosage forms (including niche high potency pharmaceutical products) to sterile products in the form of liquid vials and ampoules, eye drops, and lyophilised vials. Aspen is committed to sustaining life and promoting healthcare through increasing access to high-quality, affordable medicines and products. To celebrate the 10th Year of Aspen’s INSPIRE Employee Recognition Program, we recently hosted Olympic-themed onsite activations at our Gqeberha and East London facilities. Our goal was to bring the annual program closer to our employees, moving beyond traditional communication channels and creating an engaging, interactive, and inclusive experience. In the spirit of Mandela Day, our team in Gqeberha had the honour of supporting SOS Children’s Village in Schauderville - located close to Aspen's flagship manufacturing facility. It was a day filled with meaningful contributions and heartfelt connections. Our Gqeberha task team spent time completing maintenance activities such as replacing broken windows, painting, fixing a broken gate, and refurbishing the netball court. In addition to the work completed, Aspen employees generously donated essential goods to support the home. We were deeply inspired by the dedication and selflessness of the staff at SOS Children’s Village, who provide a nurturing environment for orphaned and abandoned children, ensuring they receive the care, education, and community they need to thrive. Beyond the physical tasks, we embraced the true spirit of Mandela Day by spending quality time with the children, playing games, and sharing laughter.
