Capfin, Pepkor Payments and Lending (PPL) and Tenacity Financial Services (Pty) Ltd were privileged to fund our third container classroom in three years! Inspired by Nelson Mandela's belief that "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.“, we are excited that our contribution, in partnership with Breadline Africa, provided an Early Childhood Development Centre in Blackheath with a dedicated environment to educate and nurture over 40 Grade R students. Twelve employee volunteers in total from PPL, Capfin and Tenacity visited the Centre on Mandela day to officially open the classroom and using the opportunity to spend quality time with the children, helping the children paint murals to decorate the classroom, playing games, and making and joining them for lunch and healthy treats. We are proud to be able to support education in this way, whilst helping to build strong communities. #MandelaDay #GivingBack #CSI #Community #MakeADifference #PepkorPaymentsandLending #PPL #Capfin #Tenacity

Senior leaders at Pepkor Payments and Lending, Capfin and Tenacity Financial Services (Pty) Ltd had an incredible experience at our inaugural Annual Senior Leadership Conference (SLC) - a day brimming with insights, innovation, and inspiration. This event not only celebrated our achievements but also set the stage for an exciting and successful year ahead. After an inspirational opening by our CEO Eugene De Villiers, we were privileged to hear from outstanding guest speakers, Sean Cardinaal, Chief Operating Officer and Riaan Hanekom, Group Chief Financial Officer both from Pepkor, and Dr Steven Zwane. A special thanks to our external guest speaker Dr. Zwane who inspired us with his insights on the importance of entrepreneurial vision and encouraged us to apply this mindset at every opportunity. The day culminated in a glamorous gala evening, where we had the pleasure of recognising and celebrating colleagues who made remarkable contributions to our recent successes. Congratulations to Shaun van Eck, recipient of the CEO Award, and Johanna von Borstel, Bruce McLaren and Roland D. Knoetze, who received the SLC Team Award on behalf of their team. DID YOU KNOW? At Capfin, we proudly serve our customers in all 11 of South Africa’s official languages! As we celebrate International Mother Language Day today, Head of Customer Services Omar Parker talks about the immense value and impact it has to serve our customers in the language of their choice: --------------------------------- Our commitment to linguistic diversity is deeply embedded in our business philosophy, which significantly contributes to the strength of our operations. Capfin, as a financial services provider, understands the crucial role that effective communication plays in building trust and fostering long-term relationships with our diverse clientele. By offering our services in multiple official languages, we ensure that every customer - regardless of their linguistic background - can seamlessly access and comprehend the intricacies of our financial products and solutions. This linguistic inclusivity not only enhances customer satisfaction, it expands our reach to a broader and more varied audience. Moreover, by embracing linguistic diversity, Capfin demonstrates a profound respect for cultural nuances and traditions. This cultural sensitivity is integral to our approach, as it enables us to tailor our services to meet the specific needs and preferences of each linguistic community we serve. In doing so, we not only acknowledge the importance of preserving cultural heritage but also actively contribute to the promotion of sustainable development by fostering an environment of inclusivity and understanding. Our commitment to servicing customers in all official languages extends beyond mere compliance with international observances; it is an integral part of our strategic vision. It’s a commitment that is reflected in our workforce diversity, where employees proficient in various languages collaborate seamlessly to provide a personalized and culturally sensitive customer experience. In practical terms, the adoption of multiple languages in our operations has resulted in increased customer engagement, loyalty, and overall business growth. The ability to communicate effectively with customers in their mother languages fosters a sense of belonging and trust, which, in turn, strengthens our brand reputation and market presence. #MotherLanguageDay #LinguisticDiversity #MakingADifference #Capfin

At Capfin we take the protection of personal data seriously. Kevin Bath, Chief Technology Officer shares more below...

**World Data Privacy Day Reflections: Safeguarding Your Digital Identity**     At Pepkor Payments and Lending, along with our partner companies Capfin and Tenacity Financial Services (Pty) Ltd, the commitment to safeguarding personal data is at the core of our business ethos. In recognition of #WorldDataPrivacyDay on 28 January, it is a moment for collective introspection and an opportunity to reinforce our dedication to privacy and data protection.   Kevin Bath, Chief Technology Officer, emphasises the gravity of this commitment: "Keeping customers' information safe is vital to our credibility and absolutely essential in the Financial industry.   “World Data Privacy Day serves as a reminder to raise awareness and promote best practices in privacy and data protection, not just within our companies, but also to our valued customers. While robust data protection measures have always been a priority for us, the introduction of POPIA in July 2020 prompted us to further enhance our practices, ensuring the security of both employee and customer data.   “Under POPIA, individuals are granted significant rights over their personal data, including notification of data collection, access to collected data, correction or deletion of information, objection to data processing, and even the right to transfer personal information outside of South Africa (with exceptions).   "In today's digital landscape, where personal data is freely shared through online applications, we should be aware that a significant amount of our information is already 'out there.' We often rely on third parties to protect our data, but how well do we truly know these entities and their intentions?   “Being more vigilant in our online interactions is really important. Do we read and understand the Terms and Conditions before clicking 'Accept'? Are we aware of the entities safeguarding our data, and do they genuinely prioritise our best interests?   “To minimise the risk of falling victim to data theft, secure electronic devices with strong passwords, keep antivirus software updated, employ two-factor authentication where possible, and avoid oversharing personal details on social media. These simple yet powerful steps contribute to a more secure digital environment.   “In the wake of World Data Privacy Day, take the time to review and reinforce your personal data protection measures. Remember, data privacy isn't just a regulatory requirement; it's a responsibility we owe to ourselves.   As we navigate the evolving landscape of digital transactions, let's stay vigilant, prioritise data privacy, and collectively contribute to a more secure and trustworthy financial ecosystem.”   #DataPrivacy #WorldDataPrivacyDay #FraudPrevention #DigitalSecurity
