Africa's destiny cannot rely on established hierarchy and authority. It will be fulfilled by networks of ethical leaders, social entrepreneurs, creative innovators and skilled artisans with the capacity to form agile teams with autonomy to create a different future, a greater human destiny in a world of opportunity. Columba's vision is to catalyse a vibrant national network of values-based leaders whose character, purpose and actions will strengthen the vital movement for change deemed meaningful in the communities around them. Columba Leadership's purpose is awakening the leader within to change lives and their communities. We work in under-resourced high schools and offer values-based academies for principals, educators and learners, implementation support, and continued engagement with and support of our out of school alumni after the leave school.

We were honored to celebrate #MandelaDay at Vulumzi Senior Secondary School in Motherwell by establishing a food garden and a recycling initiative in honor of Madiba. Empowering the leaders of tomorrow is in our hands. A heartfelt thank you to all the partners who made this day possible.
This Nelson Mandela International Day 2024, Coega Development Corporation (Coega) teamed up with Columba Leadership, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM), Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), and the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDAR) to celebrate the day by going green! In a joint effort driven by Coega's CSI wing, we are proud to announce the launch of a sustainable food garden and waste management programme at the Vulumzi Senior Secondary School in Motherwell, Gqeberha. Joining Hands, Connecting Communities 🙌 In celebration of Mandela Day the team spent 67 minutes giving back to Vulumzi Senior Secondary School in Motherwell in an event organised by multiple stakeholders such as Coega Development Corporation, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Columba Leadership and so many more. The objective of the programme was to establish a food garden and a recycling initiative at the school. In honour of Madiba’s Legacy, we planted vegetables in the school garden for the learners to take care of. The youth are the future of our country, and it is important to include them in environmental activities and allow them to lead. As Tata said, “The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” We are happy to have been a part of this event and hope to keep joining hands and positively impacting our communities and the youth through collaboration.
