On 10 October, Mabhodla Primary School in Richards Bay celebrated a significant milestone with the official awarding of School Leadership Advancement certificates, culminating an Adopt-a-School Foundation educator development programme. The programme was supported by Grindrod and is endorsed by the Services SETA. Fourteen educators were awarded Certificates of Competence, and five additional educators received Certificates of Attendance, each valued at 12 credits at NQ Level 4. Principal Ms. Khumalo expressed her gratitude to Grindrod and Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation partner entity, Adopt-a-School, for their unwavering support, emphasising the transformative impact of the training. She noted improvements such as a marked decrease in absenteeism, interactive reading sessions held during assemblies, and enhanced parent communication through WhatsApp. Educators conveyed their deep appreciation for the program, highlighting how it has empowered them and fostered a renewed sense of leadership within each participant. Since the first fundraising party, over R107 million in anchor funding has been raised in support of 79 schools and more than 17 000 learners.
