Chief Ralekhudu Enterprises is leading the way with an incredible programme that upskills persons with disabilities by providing scarce skill training in wheelchair and assistive device servicing, repair, and refurbishment. This innovative training offers the opportunity to earn a certified occupational qualification, helping individuals establish rural and township-based wheelchair service centres owned and run by persons with disabilities themselves. The programme also includes small business management training, empowering these entrepreneurs to manage their centres as thriving business units. By equipping individuals with new skills and a sustainable income, Chief Ralekhudu Enterprises is creating opportunities for independence and growth within underserved communities. We are delighted to welcome Jerry Nkeli as the newest trustee of the SAB Foundation. With an impressive career spanning nearly three decades in the legal field, Jerry has been a tireless advocate for human rights, disability inclusion, and corporate governance. He was the first known Black paraplegic to qualify as an attorney in South Africa, and his contributions to social justice and empowerment have been profound. His experience includes serving as a Commissioner at the SA Human Rights Commission, where he played a pivotal role in shaping disability protection laws, as well as leading some of South Africa’s most influential legal practices. Beyond his legal expertise, Jerry has actively driven transformation in corporate spaces, social housing, and access to justice. We are honoured to have Jerry bring his wealth of knowledge and passion for empowering entrepreneurs and advancing inclusive growth to the SABF. We look forward to working together to continue making a meaningful impact. Join us in welcoming Jerry Nkeli to the SABF family. The Micro-sized household biodigester is an impactful innovation that transforms waste into sustainable solutions, and changing the way we think about waste, energy, and food production. This integrated system combines micro-sized biodigesters and vertical hydroponic systems to create a sustainable cycle that benefits both the environment and communities. The biodigesters convert organic waste into clean biogas for cooking, while the vertical hydroponics provide nutrient-rich liquid fertiliser to grow vegetables. By harnessing organic waste to produce clean energy and enabling homegrown food production, this solution is tackling pressing issues like energy scarcity, waste management, and food security fostering a more sustainable and resilient future. This innovation is a game-changer for communities looking to reduce their environmental footprint while improving their quality of life.
