Today we hosted our first ever Sprayathon at ShopriteX in solidarity with those affected by cancer. If you've been following our page for a while, you might have read about our fairly informal and sometimes sporadic run club. A fun jog in the suburb adjacent to our office to stretch some muscles after the work day. There are however some people in our team, who take their running a little more seriously. We are very proud of our ShopriteX colleagues who recently completed their respective events in the Cape Town Marathon. Well done to our incredible team members who make a 42km marathon look easy, and inspire the rest of us to (maybe one day) do the same! 🏅 #wellnesswednesday #fitnessgoals

Flight number ✈️ GE131, operated by LIFT   From: OR Tambo International To: Cape Town International Departure: 10:00, 24OCT2024 This was the maiden flight that carried 168 passengers aboard our specially branded aeroplane, taking deliveries (with an xtra dose of gees) to new heights 36 000 feet in the air. With regularly scheduled flights between Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, Checkers and Sixty60 are thrilled to be adding something special to their offering this festive season. Keep looking up, because there is a lot more flying in! Well done to our incredible team for always making the seemingly impossible possible, and taking Checkers and Sixty60 to new heights!

Fly higher... Sixty60 started small, testing the fairly new concept of on-demand grocery delivery back in 2019. When it launched, Bruce Whitfield said “it’s either a game changer or the craziest idea ever in South African retailing”. Back then, we never could have imagined the impact it would have on the lives of South Africans, and how Checkers Sixty60 would evolve into a household name. What started as a teal motorbike has since ventured not only into our Hyper delivery vans, but the Sixty60 colours have adorned London cabs, double decker busses delivering gees, MotoGP superbikes, Vespas, jet skis and a range of toys and apparel for our little ones too. The latest though, and one I’m particularly proud of, is a Sixty60 airplane operated by LIFT airlines which will be delivering something Xtra special for Christmas. Today it took its maiden voyage from OR Tambo International Airport, and delivering groceries to 168 passengers at 36 000 feet for some Sixty60 style cheer. Thank you to everyone who’s walked (and cycled and driven and ridden) alongside us on our journey.
