We are proud to have partnered with Bethany Home, a rehabilitation and healing shelter dedicated to supporting abused women and children, empowering them on their journey to recovery and reintegration into society. The ladies will be participating in a learnership program through the SA Business School, where they will be doing Information Technology: End User Computing at NQF Level 1.   By investing in education and empowerment, we’re helping to create new opportunities and brighter futures. 🌊 As National Marine Week kicks off we reflect on our clean up at the Umngeni River Mouth - Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve in Durban this past Friday, 4 October 2024.   The BevCo team alongside our host, Adopt-a-River, showed up in numbers to play their part in water conservation. This fantastic effort follows the efforts of our Gauteng team,  cleaned the Hennops and Kaalspruit Rivers on 20 September.   Together, we collected 63 bags of waste all thanks to the efforts of over 32 BevCo/Pepsi team members and 5 dedicated volunteers from our host Adopt-a-River 💪🏾.   You too can be a water-steward - we urge you to take that first step towards becoming water wise.   A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in making a difference! 60% of our river ecosystems are threatened, nearly 50% of our water is unsafe to drink, and 47% of clean water is lost through leaks. Research confirms that by 2030 South Africa could face a 17% water deficit. The time to act is now!   At BevCo, we are committed to making a difference. After cleaning up the Kaalspruit River in Thembisa and Hennops River in Centurion, we are excited to continue our efforts at the Umgeni River and Blue Lagoon Beach this Friday, 4th October 2024.   Join us in our mission to protect and preserve our precious water resources and this journey starts with education and a change in behaviour. JIVE Donates to Coastal Clean-Up 10 Year Anniversary The beautiful False Bay coastline drew attention on Saturday 14 September 2024, as Polyoak Packaging hosted its 10th annual Polyoak Family Clean-Up event at Strandfontein Pavilion. The theme centred around ‘biodiversity’, highlighting the importance of marine litter.     400 volunteers collected an impressive 121 bags of litter. Weighing in at 1038kg, the items included cigarette butts, polystyrene and fishing lines to name a few. PET bottles and closures were also collected, despite being 100% recyclable. This highlights the need for consumers to separate their waste and place their recyclables in the appropriate bins, to ensure they get recycled.   To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Polyoak invited Bevco Cape Town, a valued customer to help raise awareness for the environmental coastal clean-up. Bevco generously donated Jive cooldrinks to all our volunteers who still had smiles on their faces at the end of the day.   The aim of the beach clean-up is to be sea smart, contributing positively towards the environment, by educating communities to keep our shorelines clean. A special thanks to Bevco for partnering with Polyoak to help make this possible. Remember to always replace the bottle caps onto the bottle before disposing for recycling.  

At BevCo, we’re passionate about making a real difference in our communities and our environment. This September, we celebrated both World Water Week and Recycle Week by taking direct action to protect one of our most precious resources: water.   On the 20th of September, BevCo teams, partners and volunteers came together for River Clean-Ups at the Hennops and Kaalspruit Rivers in Gauteng. We’re proud of the amazing work done to help clear waste and reduce pollution.   A total of 573 bags were collected at the Hennops River in Centurion and 250 at Kaalspruit River in Thembisa 🚮, with the support of over 50 BevCo/Pepsi teams and partners, along with 28 dedicated volunteers 💪🏾.   But our commitment doesn’t end there! We will continue collaborating with our teams, partners and communities to conduct more clean-ups and increase awareness and education for water conversation.   As water scarcity continues to challenge South Africa, we encourage everyone to be water-wise in their everyday lives.
