Electric Vehicles are becoming more and more accessible 💸 Kia has plans for an entry-level EV city car potentially priced under €20,000 (≈R400,000), with a strategy to reduce EV prices in €5,000 increments. The EV3 is priced at €35,000, with the EV2 planned to come in under €30,000 by 2026! This aggressive pricing strategy the global commitment to democratising e-Mobility. The Evolution to Electric Vehicles (EVs) is inevitable. How will the South Africa’s power supply keep up? ☀️Off-grid charging stations are the only viable solution☀️ In the first quarter of this year, there was an approximate 42% increase in EV sales compared to the same period last year. The EV White Paper, published in 2023, emphasises the expected accelerating adoption of EVs across South Africa 📈 We ran the numbers and found that this will require an extra 10 - 15% grid capacity, something our national grid will not be able to sustain. Off-grid charging stations are a critical complement to the influx of EVs in South Africa. Our blueprints are making their way into reality 🏗️ The construction of the Farm Flair farmstall and charging station on the N12, near Wolmaransstad, is making exciting progress. Our team has been hard at work to bring our first charging station into being 💪 From Land Use and Environmental applications, to specialised engineering and now, construction, it is fantastic to see our project taking shape, already making a positive impact on the community in creating valuable local jobs. What was once pen and paper become brick and mortar is the result of much hard work, cooperation and top expertise. Every step of our process is meticulously planned, drawn up, and executed.
