Dubai Design Week is back from 6 to 9 November 2024 at Dubai Design District (d3). Make sure to visit the Dutch Collective exhibition curated by Margriet Vollenberg of the Organisation in Design. For the second consecutive year, the Dutch Collective will be present in Downtown Design, this time with 6 exceptional Dutch designers showcasing their incredible work of diverse textures and mediums featuring a diverse range of styles, materials, and creative perspectives. The featured designers in this year’s Dutch Collective are FEMM-Amsterdam by Femke Hofhuis, Milla Novo, Grace of Glaze by Simone Doesburg, Jesse Visser, Sina Dyks, and Eva Hendriks. In line with EAD’s digital transformation strategy and commitment to global environmental leadership, a high-level delegation from #EAD recently concluded an official mission to the Netherlands, where they engaged in a series of strategic meetings with key stakeholders. The delegation attended sustainability events, including the World Summit AI, focusing on fostering strategic collaborations to advance AI-driven solutions for air and water quality monitoring, environmental research and education, and promoting biodiversity management strategies. High-level meetings with TNO, Rijkswaterstaat, and Deltares facilitated the exchange of best practices in environmental management, and identifying best practices that could drive impactful change across both regions. 🌍 Green Mobility 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 in the GCC!   With growing interest from GCC countries in sustainable transport, the Regional Business Developer Gulf team and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development partnered on a sector study on green mobility led by Robin Mills and Ahmad Zahir from Qamar Energy. This report explores Dutch business opportunities to support the region’s shift to green mobility.   The Netherlands, a leader in electric mobility, with the 4th highest EV share worldwide, is well-positioned to contribute as the mobility sector works toward Net-Zero. Congratulations to ‘Faseelh’, a language learning initiative from the Netherlands. Last week, they won a Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award, under the Technology segment, ‘Best Smart Application for Arabic Language and Its Dissemination’. The award event was organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, and recognizes outstanding contributions in promoting and preserving the Arab language locally and globally.
