Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility

📣 The first global funding call for project proposals from the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility has been published by UNIDO on its Procurement Portal 🌎 The programme is part of the Ayrton Fund commitment to support clean energy Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) in ODA-eligible countries and is funded with an initial £65 million from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero   Proposals must support the implementation of catalytic and scalable pilot demonstration projects of innovative clean energy solutions in four thematic areas: ⛏ critical minerals 🔋 clean hydrogen 💡 smart energy 🏭 industrial decarbonization ⏰ The deadline for proposals is 19 August 2024 16:00 Vienna CET. UNIDO and the UK first launch Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility Call-for-Proposals 🌍 This partnership between UNIDO and the UK aims to advance sustainable industrial development and climate action in developing countries through innovative technologies. The first Call-for-Proposals of the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility was announced by Director General Gerd Müller and Corinne Kitsell, Ambassador at the United Kingdom Mission to the United Nations, at an event attended by more than 400 participants. #UNIDO's new Facility, supported by the #UK Government with an initial funding of £65 million, aims to accelerate the commercialization of innovative clean #energy solutions in developing countries by providing grant support for the implementation and operation of demonstration projects with catalytic and scalable potential, focusing on critical minerals, clean #hydrogen, smart energy and industrial decarbonization. In their remarks during the event, the Chairs of the African, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia and the Pacific Regional Groups highlighted the importance of investing in innovative technologies for clean energy transitions and industrial decarbonization in their respective regions.
