Our municipal partners in the area “Energy” selected three solutions submitted to the #CircularCityChallenge 2023, increasing citizens' awareness of CO2 reduction through circular economy concepts, while offering various incentives and solutions to promote sustainable energy production and conservation measures. Making it easy to understand which solution fits best to your needs, helping with the process to obtain solar energy for homes or helping building managers to optimize usage. Check out which examples for #circularsolutions you can see in your city this weekend when enjoying local events, markets and gastronomy. It was a part of the #CircularCityChallenge this year to get inspired by already existing solutions. We know that we need to make events, gastronomy and local markets more sustainable and circular by reducing the food and packaging waste and motivate for a better usage of the resources, including water. Two solutions could convince the municipal partners as jury of the Circular City Challenge 2023 in the area “Events & Gastronomy”, focusing on the events with circular (zero waste) options as well as establishing a uniform reusable strategy in gastronomy for easy coordination in city/district. How can a #CircularEconomy become the mainstream solution, how far is Austria on the way to #Circularity and how can we bring people on board to have #CircularThinking as a default development method for organisations and regions? These were some of the questions we answered in our training yesterday at the Climate Lab, which Andreas Ellenberger held together with Johannes Kisser from alchemia-nova. Looking into the background why companies will need to be ready for their role in an economy which is circular. For future business in #Europe this will be a prerequisite, and the #EurpeanUnion is supporting with more and more regulations and support by the #GreenDeal program, from #taxonomy and #ecodesign guidelines to #csrd reporting on the progress. It also requires a vision of the future where healthy living conditions are the primary objectives, instead of financial wealth of a small group of people which determines the current system. We looked into nature based solutions, discussed how the application in the own environment can look like, it was an inspiring circle of people with different backgrounds. #sustainability #innovativesolutions #collaboration

One of the challenges for a #CircularCity is the area of “#WasteManagement” - it is good to see that the most promising solutions chosen by the municipal partners take a different approach than a better recycling. Deep dive #Circularcity: Heute bei der Veranstaltung der #CircularCityChallenge organisiert von Andreas Ellenberger Circonnact - Regenerative Circularity im Climate Lab treffen sich zahlreiche Akteure und Pioniere im Bereich #Kreislaufwirtschaft.
