In 2020, the British Government awarded Tamy Ribeiro Sass a European Tech Women Award for her extensive work in the shared mobility industry. Sharing her insights in #13 of Zag’s Mobility Leaders: Women Making Moves series, the goUrban Chief Revenue Officer explains the evolution of the city-shared operator relationship. She says that though cities are no longer viewing shared micromobility as ‘rebel startups’ they are now trying to profit off of operators. “Until two or three years ago there was a huge boom in VC funding and startups wanted to grow at any cost. Cities then saw an opportunity to try and make a profit off of them, but this delayed operators’ path to profitability.
