Aviation can often become a family affair, with multiple generations or siblings choosing to work within the industry. Alliance Airlines is no exception to this pattern! One of our mother-daughter duos, Marinda and Nicole, chatted with us about why they chose to work in aviation, and the best part about their roles at Alliance Airlines. // Marinda (Cabin Manager): "I've worked at Alliance Airlines for about 18 months but used to work in aviation before I started a family. I adore flying and would have loved to become a pilot. "I enjoy the unpredictability of being a flight attendant. We must remain calm and friendly while being prepared to deal with unexpected changes. Every day is different, and I enjoy working with a diverse and amazing group of people. "Our family was so excited when Nicole decided she wanted to become a flight attendant. Hearing about her training encouraged me to return to aviation, and now we both work for Alliance Airlines. "We've only flown together once on a flight to Rockhampton. The passengers were so intrigued about a mum and daughter working together that it made for interesting conversations and good laughs. One passenger made us a bunch of roses from serviettes." // Nicole (Duty Travel Coordinator): "I was born in South Africa and lived in Dubai prior to Australia. I feel like I was basically raised on aircraft going back and forth between countries. Working in this industry has always seemed both natural and exciting. "I began working with Alliance Airlines as a Cabin Crew member almost two years ago and have since transitioned to the Operations Control Centre. In this role, I've really learnt how to prioritise tasks and think ahead to provide Operations with the best possible support. "Aviation is fast-paced, and you always need to think on your feet to meet unexpected challenges. The culture within our team is the best part of my role. "In my spare time, I love travelling, and I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Now that I'm no longer flying at heights of 35,000 feet, I'm spending free time exploring the ocean 30 feet down as a diver and learning about marine life." // Thanks for sharing your stories, Marinda and Nicole. #AllianceAirlines #Hiring #AviationJobs
