We are pleased to announce two new appointments in our Senior Management Team.    Anna Stavropoulos, formerly GM People Advisory, Talent and Learning, has been appointed as the new Chief People and Culture Officer. Anna’s HR leadership experience across the financial services industry spans over 20 years and over the past five years since joining Allianz, she has spearheaded innovative strategies in employee wellbeing, talent acquisition, and learning and development.   Julie Mitchell has been appointed as the new Chief General Manager Commercial. Julie comes to the Commercial team having spent 25 years in Allianz’s Personal Injury Division, including the last six years as Chief General Manager, Personal Injury. In this role, and throughout her career-to-date, Julie has focused on helping small and large Australian businesses protect their most valuable assets. Julie's strong industry relationships and strategic mindset position her well to lead the Commercial team into the future.   Please join us in congratulating Julie and Anna on these appointments, which will be effective as of 1 April.

Earlier this week, we hosted our annual Allianz #InternationalWomensDay celebration, bringing together an inspiring group of speakers at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney. We were privileged to hear from Gina Chick, winner of Alone Australia, who delivered an empowering keynote speech. Drawing from her 67-day solo survival in Australia’s remote wilderness, Gina shared invaluable lessons on resilience, instinct, curiosity, and connection. This year’s theme, #MarchForward, set the stage for a thought-provoking panel discussion on gender equity and the progress Allianz has made in fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace through our Allianz NEO network. Our Chief General Manager Consumer, Shez Ford,, facilitated the conversation and was joined by our Managing Director, Richard Feledy, Co-Executive Sponsor of Gender Equity, Anna Stavropoulos, and NEO representative, Carey Cao. These conversations are essential in driving meaningful change, and we remain committed to championing equity within Allianz and beyond. #IWD #MarchForward

As North Qld moves into the recovery phase following the recent tropical low, Allianz is committed to supporting our customers every step of the way.    The Allianz Disaster & Recovery Team (DaRT) has been on the ground, working tirelessly to assess damage and facilitate the claims process.    Hear from Scott Cooper, National Manager of Disaster and Recovery, as he explains how we're helping customers navigate their recovery journey.   

Last week our #AllianzPride network hosted an exclusive employee screening of 'LIZA: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story' at the Queer Screen - Mardi Gras Film Festival. Executive Sponsor of #AllianzPride, Brendan Dunne, welcomed the team alongside Festival Director Lisa Rose, and reflected on our fourth year as a Major Partner of the Film Festival. The team were also treated to surprise performance of “New York, New York” by drag star Hannah Conda, appearing as Liza with a Z herself!
