Well done to our Traffic Team for ensuring Peter's safety on this important journey.  #BetterTogether

Day 3 - What an incredible day in Camden! 🌟🧡 It was an honour to have the NSW Minister for Multiculturalism, the Hon Steve Kamper, and Member for Liverpool Nathan Hagarty MP join Peter Gutwein on The Walk. Together, they celebrated the vibrant diversity and inspiring stories of the community. So many interesting people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, shared amazing stories. Fred Purcell's impactful suicide prevention efforts with talk2mebro, the compelling films created by Rosemary Kariuki OAM, and the selfless volunteer work by Pacific Communities members like Malaemie Fruean OAM. Each story was a testament to the strength and resilience of our migrant and refugee communities. A special thank you to Pastor Kelepi for his heartfelt prayers and wise words on the power of unity. 🙏 And a huge shoutout to Altus Traffic Australia for ensuring a safe and enjoyable walk, with young stars Izaac, Billy, and Matt shining brightly! 🌟 Don't experience FOMO because you can't be there with Peter. There are many ways you can support The Walk. Find out how at https://lnkd.in/geN_Cm2T. We are simply better when we are together. 🤝💛 #thewalkbettertogether

Today in Western Sydney, we’re honoured to support The Walk – Better Together initiative alongside the Hon. Peter Gutwein, Chair of MRC Tasmania, as we continue to celebrate the strength of diversity and inclusion. Peter Gutwein, joined by our very own Muhammed Melhem and wahid Ezaty from Downer, along with Football Australia Chair Anter Isaac and representatives from the Western Sydney MRC, will share their powerful stories of perseverance and unity. “Building and managing critical infrastructure for Australia has been both challenging and rewarding,” say Muhammad and Wahid, who will speak about their journeys, the adversity they faced, and their pride in the coming profile series run by Downer Transport & Infrastructure Together, we walk not just for progress, but for a future where inclusion and diversity build a stronger nation. 🤝 Thank you to our partner Altus Traffic Australia for helping us support this meaningful cause and show that we are truly #BetterTogether. #CulturalDiversity #Altus #Inclusion #TheWalk #Downer #SupportDiversity #Australia #UnityInDiversity #CriticalInfrastructure #DiverseJourneys

R U OK? Any Day involves a few key steps to ensure meaningful support. But before you can look out for others, you need to look out for yourself. And that’s OK. If you're not in the right headspace or you don't think you're the right person to have the conversation, try to think of someone else in their support network who could talk to your workmate, friend or loved one. If you feel OK and believe you can have the conversation, follow these steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. 1. Start by initiating a conversation and ASKING, “Are you OK?” 2. LISTEN with an open mind and heart, showing empathy and understanding. 3. ENCOURAGE ACTION by helping them find ways to manage their situation, whether it’s seeking professional help or finding healthy coping mechanisms. 4. Finally, remember to CHECK IN with them later to see how they’re doing. A follow-up can make a significant difference, showing that you genuinely care and are there for them. Above all, make it a habit to check in with your workmates, family, and friends any day – not just one day a year. 💛 For additional support services, visit: https://lnkd.in/gxN5_qA #RUOKDay #MentalHealthMatters #YouMatter #CheckInOnYourMates

R U OK? Day is a perfect opportunity to check in with those around you. Reach out to someone you care about and ask how they’re really doing. Let them know you’ve been thinking about them and genuinely want to hear how they’ve been managing. STEP 4 - CHECK IN: Pop a reminder in your diary to call them in a couple of weeks. If they're really struggling, follow up with them sooner. You could say: "I've been thinking of you and wanted to know how you've been going since we last chatted." Ask if they've found a better way to manage the situation. If they haven't done anything, don't judge them. They might just need someone to listen to them for the moment. Stay in touch and be there for them. Genuine care and concern can make a real difference. A simple conversation could be a lifeline. Who will you reach out to today? 💛 For additional support services, visit: https://lnkd.in/gxN5_qA #RUOKDay #Listen #Support #MentalHealthMatters

If they say they are not OK, you can follow our conversation steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are OK, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask. STEP 3 - ENCOURAGE ACTION and offer support: ▫ “What do you think is a first step that might help you?” ▫ “Have you spoken to your doctor about this?” A simple conversation could be a lifeline. The recent completion of the #SydneyGateway project marks a significant milestone in Australia's infrastructure landscape. This mega project, undertaken by the John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV), not only promises to revolutionise the accessibility of Sydney Airport but also sets a new benchmark in project management and execution. Among the key contributors was Altus Traffic, commencing work on the Sydney Gateway project in February 2021. Altus Traffic's involvement in the Sydney Gateway was a colossal undertaking from the start. Over the course of the project, Altus Traffic: ▶ inducted 200 staff ▶ clocked approximately 230,000 man-hours ▶ saw the first use of the Hybrid LTMA (Light Truck Mounted Attenuator) in Australia, ▶ incorporated Utes, drop decks, arrow boards, and PTCD Porta Booms to enhance traffic management and safety on-site ▶ worked regular 56-hour weekend possessions ▶ managed logistical hurdles presented by the Covid pandemic including supply chain shortages; and still the project moved forward without significant delays throughout the nearly four-year construction period. Eamon Mullan, Sydney Operations Manager at Altus Traffic Australia, reflecting on the project's evolution, expressed a heartfelt sentiment: "Watching this project develop from its very beginning to its completion has been an unforgettable experience for our entire team. The exceptionally positive workplace culture was a direct result of everyone's dedication to fostering a spirit of camaraderie among all participants, whether they were part of the project for an hour, a month or for the 3.5 years." Central to the success of Altus Traffic's operations on the Sydney Gateway was Nick Amone, the Altus Traffic Site Supervisor whose leadership and problem-solving skills earned him the moniker of a "unicorn" within the team. On the client side, key figures such as Andrew Deck (Project Director at Seymour Whyte Group), Lee Vossen (Regional Traffic Manager at Seymour Whyte), Adam Sardelic (Traffic Foreman at Seymour Whyte), and Joseph McInerney (Nightshift Superintendant) were instrumental in supporting and facilitating the needs of the Altus Traffic crew, ensuring safety and efficiency were maintained at all times. As vehicles begin traversing the newly opened Sydney Gateway, the efforts of Altus Traffic and all who contributed to this project will be experienced by thousands daily. https://lnkd.in/eHiYD_GE #Infrastructure #Transport #TrafficManagement #TrafficPlanning #TransportForNSW #AltusTraffic

Got a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts, more agitated, or withdrawn? Trust that gut instinct and act on it. By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend, or workmate open up. STEP 2 - LISTEN: ▫ “I’m here to listen.” ▫ “Take your time.” ▫ “Tell me more about…” ▫ “How does that make you feel?” A simple conversation could be a lifeline. Who will you reach out to today? 💛 For additional support services, visit: https://lnkd.in/gxN5_qA #RUOKDay #Listen #Support #MentalHealthMatters

While R U OK? Day on Thursday September 12 is our National Day of action, remember that it's important to check in on your mates, colleagues and loved ones any day of the year. By engaging in regular, meaningful conversations, you help build trust and create an environment where it's normal to discuss life's ups and downs. This makes it easier for people around you to reach out when they're facing challenges. STEP 1 - Start the Conversation and ASK: ▫ "How are you doing today?" ▫ "Is there something on your mind you'd like to talk about?" ▫ "You haven’t seemed like yourself lately - do you want to talk about it?" ▫ "I know things have been tough - how are you holding up?" A simple conversation could be a lifeline. Who will you reach out to today? 💛 For additional support services, visit: https://lnkd.in/gxN5_qA #RUOKDay #Listen #Support #MentalHealthMatters
