Hui Yueh Koh began her career as an ANZ credit analyst in Singapore 24 years ago. Back then our entire workforce in the trading hub was small enough to fit on a bus. “ANZ had 70 plus employees when I first joined, and now it has grown ten times that with close to 800.” This year marks 50 years since ANZ started operations in Singapore. We are the oldest and largest Australian bank in the country. Hui Yueh puts her career success down to having the right mindset. “I learnt to be adaptable and see change as an opportunity,” she says. “This mindset has served me well to continue to grow through challenges and developed my resilience. The learning journey is a marathon and not a sprint. I have been privileged to have met many supportive leaders during my time.” “ANZ is my other family and I have grown so much professionally and personally through the mentorships and friendships built in my two over decades here.” Read Hui Yueh’s story here: https://lnkd.in/gdXHVM5H

Hey, #engineers 👋 We know digital accessibility is something we’re all passionate about. What if AI could help us lift our accessibility game and speed up accessibility compliance checks? Anchal Jain, our Accessibility Testing Lead, along with her team, is tackling this head-on at ANZ. "One of the game-changers we’re working on is Ta11y (short for Test Accessibility). It will significantly reduce the time and effort required to deliver accessibility compliance for in-house apps." Anchal teamed up with colleagues Maxim Rioumine, Cameron Chong, Fengyan Zhang, David Liao and Dennis Darwis to automatically scan apps to identify any accessibility issues, ensure that all apps meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and help developers by automating repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on more complex and creative aspects of their work. "It wasn’t that scary at all, bankers don't ALL wear suits, and there's a lot more opportunity here than I thought." That's what three high school students had to say about recent work experience at ANZ. It was part of The Smith Family Inspirations program, hosted by ANZ’s Group Treasury team, that provides young people with opportunities to experience the world of work firsthand in a meaningful and inspiring way. 📽 Hear what else the students had to say about ANZ (skip to 1.32) as well as the advice leaders Farhan Faruqui, Tammy Medard and Adrian Went would give their younger selves. What makes a cross-border team tick? 🌏 1 in 5 ANZ employees work in our Group Capability Centre, across Bengaluru and Manila. In fact, we work in 29 markets right across the globe - so, our people know a thing or two about working with teams across borders. Kim Vu and her manager Doug Smith, who work in the Australia Commercial business, see lots of benefits of being part of a global team including — diversity in thinking, skillset and the opportunity to learn about new cultures. Since 2018, they’ve been overseeing teams in Bengaluru who carry out compliance activities. “Working closely with our people overseas has opened up my world and way of thinking. I get to experience new cultures, perspectives and ways of doing things which makes work more interesting and satisfying.” Kim and Doug share 5 top tips for successfully leading teams in different locations. 👇
