We just wrapped up our second Austral Project Execution Model (APEM) Training Workshop for the year, and it was an incredible experience! With 18 participants from our marine, civil, APS, and support teams, this workshop showcased the strength and collaboration of our amazing group. A huge thanks to our fantastic facilitators Nicholas Hewitt, Matthew Birchall, and Agatha McDonagh, ACC ICF for leading the way! This session featured something new—a practical activity inspired by the Lean workshop. Matt ran it twice: once at the start (purposefully messy) and again at the end (organized and well-prepared). It was a powerful demonstration of the impact of effective project management! Other highlights included engaging activities like bingo, stakeholder analysis, back-to-back communication, and the Jenga leadership challenge. The key takeaway? Understanding the bigger picture, networking, and seeing how every function contributes to a project’s success. Two months ago, we shared our team’s progress with 5S training at our Port Hedland workshop, and today, we’re excited to celebrate the incredible transformation! Led by our dedicated workshop team and supported by our site crews, they've made significant strides in Sort, Set, and Shine to create a more efficient and impressive environment. What began as a focus on improving site layout and structure has now expanded into storage areas, with the addition of artefacts that reflect the pride our team takes in their work. A standout is the blue tree, which raises awareness about mental health, reminding us that this journey is not just about processes but also about people—our team members who work safely and support one another. Standardise and Sustain have become part of the routine, ensuring that the long-term benefits of 5S will continue to save time and effort. A huge well done to everyone involved! Our VIC team recently engaged in an insightful Lean Management workshop, delving into the essential principles of lean practices.
