#Austroads has today released an updated edition of the Austroads Guide to Road Design Part 1: Objectives of Road Design (AGRD Part 1), which now includes enhanced guidance on identifying and managing design parameter values outside the normal design domain. “With growing pressure to deliver #infrastructure in constrained environments, these updates to AGRD Part 1 will help make it easier for designers to work outside normal #design parameters, more efficiently delivering safety, performance, and sustainability outcomes,” Austroads Program Manager of Road Safety and Design Michael Nieuwesteeg said. ℹ️ Click on this link to find out more: https://lnkd.in/g__dPj36 📅 Register for a webinar on Thursday 3 April presented by Belinda Gibbons and Albert Wong about the updates: https://lnkd.in/gFSUAXjB

Supporting our members to deliver an improved Australasian road transport network.
About us
Austroads is the association of Australasian transport agencies. Austroads’ purpose is to support our member organisations to deliver an improved Australasian road transport network. One that meets the future needs of the community, industry and economy. A road network that is safer for all users and provides vital and reliable connections to place and people. A network that uses resources wisely and is mindful of its impact on the environment. To succeed in this task, we undertake leading-edge road and transport research which underpins our input to policy development and published guidance on the design, construction and management of the road network and its associated infrastructure. We also administer the National Exchange of Vehicle and Driver Information System (NEVDIS), a unique national system which enables road authorities to interact across state borders and directly supports the transport and automotive industries. Austroads provides a collective approach that delivers value for money, encourages shared knowledge and drives consistency for road users.

Austroads has announced that CivilEdge - RTO 41594 is now approved to deliver the Installer training suite for the Austroads Safety Hardware Training and Accreditation Scheme (ASHTAS). CivilEdge joins Roading Industry Support Services in delivering the ASHTAS Installer suite. Run-off-road and head-on crashes are the most common and severe types of crashes. Installing high-performance safety barriers can create a safer environment for vehicle occupants and protect road workers and others who may be on the roadside. ASHTAS is designed to ensure that everyone involved in the installation and maintenance of road safety barriers has the essential knowledge and skills to deliver safe and effective road infrastructure.
