In honour of World Environment Day and its focus on #GenerationRestoration we wanted to highlight our recent efforts in Far North Queensland! Some amazing team members at B-Alternative recently volunteered for the 25th annual Rainforest Rescue Community Tree Planting Day at the NightWings Rainforest Centre in the Daintree. This event took place on the traditional lands of the Kuku Yalanji people. With the help of approximately 150 volunteers, 3,000 trees were planted, contributing to the restoration and protection of this ancient UNESCO World Heritage site. Every tree planted is a step towards mitigating climate change and preserving the incredible biodiversity of this region, home to species found nowhere else on the planet. The lands that were once desolate sugar cane fields are slowly regenerating and animals are returning - two cassowaries have been spotted on the land recently! We’re grateful for our long term partnership with Rainforest Rescue and being part of this vital initiative, working together to protect one of the world’s most precious ecosystems. Huge thanks to all the volunteers and to Rainforest Rescue for their unwavering dedication to rainforest conservation! group photo credited to Martin Stringer Rainforest Rescue #RainforestRescue #DaintreeRainforest #Conservation #bethechange #FNQ #treeplanting #plantingtrees #australianrainforests #protecttrees

I spent last weekend at the Off Grid Festival in Chiltern, VIC with my company (B-Alternative). I loved making this video, exploring different ways to convey our passion for the environment and making waste engaging for the average patron! We diverted 11,000 single-use items from landfill with our Reuse Revolution.
As we unpack from an energizing two days, we're filled with gratitude for the incredible experiences shared at the Off Grid Living Festival , hosted on the traditional lands of the Dhudhuroa people. This event was not just a gathering; it was a vibrant showcase of sustainable living, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic individuals to engage in workshops, demonstrations, and explore a variety of stalls and food vendors, all dedicated to off-grid and sustainable lifestyles. At B-Alternative, our commitment to a greener future was in full swing. We're proud to share that our Reuse Revolution System was instrumental in washing 11,000 reusable plates! This significant achievement helped keep the same number of single-use items out of landfill, embodying our core mission of environmental stewardship. A special shoutout to the Indigenous Education Foundation for their invaluable partnership. Together, we provided a team of dedicated volunteers, playing a crucial role in making this festival not just a success, but an incredible experience for everyone involved. As we reflect on the festival's success, we're reminded that every small step towards sustainability leads to a significant positive impact on our planet. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this inspiring journey towards a more sustainable future. 🌏💚 #offgridliving #SustainableLiving #ReuseRevolution #chiltern #EnvironmentalStewardship #CommunityImpact #Partywiththeplanet #leavenotrace

Thanks ABC News and Joe O'Brien for the opportunity to talk about ways to reduce music festival waste. Increasingly, music lovers are expecting their fav events and venues to step up on climate. Fortunately, embedding sustainability in core operations can often make things easier. Less litter picking, less risk of brand damage, more audience loyalty, potential new revenue streams. Big shout out to all those amazing festival organisers leading the way, especially given how tough it is for the entertainment industry right now.
Did you see Berish Bilander, our CEO, on ABC News Monday night? 🤩 Check out the interview below! https://lnkd.in/gqx9KStJ

At the recent Mussel & Jazz Festival held at South Melbourne Market, B-Alternative was privileged to collaborate with The Nature Conservancy in Australia's Shuck Don’t Chuck initiative. Shuck Don’t Chuck is TNC’s shell recycling program, focused on collecting used oyster, mussel, and scallop shells from restaurants, venues, and seafood wholesalers, which are then recycled as a key component of TNC’s shellfish reef restoration projects. This event underscored the importance of environmental responsibility, resulting in the collection of 936kgs of shells, directly contributing to the preservation and restoration of marine ecosystems. Interested in getting involved with this initiative at your event or hospitality venue? Shoot us a DM! #SustainableBusiness #EnvironmentalImpact #marineconservation #shellrecycling #reefrestoration #saveourreefs #shuckdontchuck #australianreefs
