An example of the Halo Effect is that attractive people are often perceived as more intelligent and trustworthy, even without evidence. This cognitive bias affects judgments in various contexts, including hiring and evaluations. How does this effect impact your work? The answer was: Not as robust as assumed. "The foot-in-the-door effect does seem to influence subsequent compliance, and it is a replicable phenomenon. However, this phenomenon is weak and not nearly as robust as has been assumed." Factors such as time between requests, combining with other techniques, and the sex of the experimenter can all play a role in degree of influence. https://lnkd.in/eQe_VHeU
